I think a verygood book to start with if you are interested in Dr. Sears Vaccine book. Tells you all about the diseases, vaccines, etc. I learned alot and it helped me to figure out where I stand on these.

Re: What are your thoughts/experience on vaccinations?
Everyone will have their own thoughts/opinons on this subject.
For me, I chose to go with the recommended schedule of vaccinations.
ETA: I only delayed the Hep B vaccination at birth until DD's 2 month vaccinations. I also delayed the Rotavirus vaccination until her 4 month visit since she wasn't starting daycare until she was 5 months old.

Re: What are your thoughts/experience on vaccinations?
This is a topic where you will get many different thoughts and opinions.
I, personally, feel that it is important to imminunize my child against the diseases the shots are meant for. I went according to the schedule that my pediatrician follows.

I agree with this.
I will also say that if DC is going to be in daycare, they will have to be vaccinated.
My DH is an EMT for the FDNY, and therefore comes in contact with a lot of things that people do not normally, so our DS has to be vaccinated. I also think that if DC's parents are a teacher, or something like that, I would follow the schedule as well

Def check out that book. I always delay with both of my DC. By the time Andrew was ready for preschool, he was all caught up. I am doing the same with Alexa.
I do not give chicken pox, rotovirus or flu shots.

I followed my ped's schedule as well. Have you chosen a ped yet? We found ours very helpful when we were deciding about vaccinations, though since DH and I both teach (and I often have students who aren't up to date but allowed to attend school anyway, but that's another story!) and are exposed to lots of people, we both felt that the benefits outweighed the risks. We all also get flu shots each year.
