what are your thoughts and experiences with white appliances..

in an all white kitchen. i love the look of stainless but every person i know that has them says dont get them because they are a PIA to keep clean and polished.

i want to find an example of white appliances that dont look plastic-ish. yes, that's a word now.

What do you mean "all white" kitchen? White cabinets, I assume, but also counters? Backsplash? Floors?

Personally, I love the look of white cabinets, but I think all white appliances in an all white kitchen is too much white. I think you need some contrast. (Right now, I do have white appliances and I painted my cabinets white, but I want to re-do my kitchen someday, and I don't love the look of the white appliances with all the white.)

If you don't want stainless, I would consider black appliances, which I think tend to look a little more modern and sometimes even more upscale than white appliances. But that's jmo!

We bought new white appliances when we moved in and I have freshly painted white cabinets all I have to say the one thing I like about them is that I can just bleach/clorax spray them and anything gets off. With that said, it is VERY hard to match whites, pretty much impossible. The fridge we have is free standing so it doesn't matter, but the dishwasher isn't so I can see the white color diff bet the cabinets and the dishwasher- it bothers me.

in our apt, we had all white and replaced with stainless because we wanted that look and it also looked much better after we upgraded the countertop and backsplash. Here there was stainless when we moved in. I personally prefer stainless over anything-- and I do not get what all the fuss is about with keeping them clean. I also love stainless with white cabinets.

i want to do white cabinetry, white countertop (the one with the flecks of sparkle and neutral color), and either white glass or neutral (grey/tan/etc) backsplash.

like pp said, it's so hard to match whites. maybe ill go with the stainless and just deal with the 'extra' cleaning or whatnot.

i have white on white, in fact there is a pic of my kitchen I just posted in a thread on this page of white cabinets.

They are super easy to keep clean, just some fantastic and a wipe down.

FYI......................

I just bought my home a few months ago and the white appliances are on the old side (about 7 yrs old) and will probably need to be replaced in about 2-3 yrs. Just keep this in mind......eventually the white starts to yellow over time. I have scrubbed w/bleach, used magic erasers, etc but they are discolored and wont get stark white. Its not the biggest deal for us b/c the cabinets are a creamy beige so it sorta blends the colors.

pls, note I am primarily talking about the fridge, dishwasher and sink.

I am not a fan of white cabinets with white appliances... I think you need some contrast! Definitely go stainless or black... I actually really like the look of black.

We don't have white cabinets and have white appliances... that is what was there so when we had to replace the fridge we got white... they do show everything, I don't really mind them, but they would not be my first choice!

White appliances are definitely easier to keep clean then stainless steel. I had a stainless steel refrigerator and stove and although it was beautiful it was a nightmare to clean.

If you do wood cabinets, white appliances would look nice

I have white cabinets and white appliances. I replaced a couple of appliances last year and bought the new ones in white also. We have a very dark brown countertop and backsplash and wood floors so the whole look is clean but warm.

I have all white. Personally, easier for me to clean than SS. Clorox bleach spray does wonders. I also have light granite counters though

I mixed in black appliances and some warm red stuff to break it up.

I dont like white with white since the whites never match. And I hate black and white. I would go with stainless.
