What are your thoughts about this bottle issue?
For the past 2 mornings, James has projectiled up his first bottle of the day.
He gets dinner (cereal and fruit) at 5:30, a 5 ounce bottle at 7:30 and an 8 ounce bottle around 10:30-11.
When he wakes up in the mornings around 6, I automatically feed him. He gets to about 5.5 ounces, coughs and then projectiles it all up. He is 100% not sick (he has the sniffles, but nothing major) - no fever or any other vomiting throughout the day.
Could it be that he doesn't need that first bottle? He doesn't cry when he gets up - I just feed him because it makes sense to me
He gets "breakfast" around 8:30 - cereal and fruit again. When should I throw a bottle into the mix?
The rest of his day looks like this: 10-11 nap 11:30 - bottle noon - lunch 2:30 - bottle 3-5:30 nap 5:30 - dinner 7:30 - bottle 11 - bottle
Thoughts?

Re: What are your thoughts about this bottle issue?
Mia has been flat out refusing her morning bottle and will normally take some of a bottle with her breakfast within an hour to an hour and a half of waking up.
It seems if he is having his last bottle at 11 he should want something by morning. Maybe move cereal up earlier and give him some of the bottle with his cereal and cut out that morning bottle all by itself.

He wakes up at 6 am and then has a bottle?
Maybe wait a bit to give him the first bottle then. DS gets up around 7 am and has his first bottle and has b'fast around 8 or 830. Then is napping by 9 am.
Also, you can probably cut out the 11 pm bottle. I know you are afraid to but I think he can handle it!

We tried skipping the 11 the other night and it was torturous! He woke up at 3 and STAYED up until 5:30. The 11 tops him off and lets him STTN.
Maybe I'll try not feeding him first thing in the morning and letting the sitter give him a bottle at 8 and then breakfast at 8:30.... I'm always scared that he's going to start screaming out of hunger in the car.

Yea that is true about the screaming in the car. How many oz is he drinking during the day? Also, you can try gradually decreasing the night time bottle? Like decrease it a half and ounce for a few days. I can explain more on Sunday.
Maybe try to have the sitter give him a bottle at 8. Are you in the car at 7? Also, I am impressed that he stays awake from 6 am to 10 am! That is a good long stretch!

He'll wake up around 6 and then maybe doze on the way to the sitter (we're in the car from 6:45-7:15) and then he's fully awake once we get there.
I'm going to try not giving him the bottle tomorrow morning and see how he does. I don't htink DH or I are ready for him to give up the 11pm one yet, though! Our ped said it was fine to keep giving it to him - as long as he's not waking up again at like 3.
During the day, he gets 5 bottles filled with 8 oz - he may take all 8 oz, he may only take 5-6 ounces. He does get 2 bowls of cereal mixed with 4 oz of formula 2x a day, so that's almost like another full bottle, right?

Logan doesn't like to eat when he first wakes up... he'll wait an hour or so before looking for a bottle. Maybe that's the case with James, too? :)
