Re: What appetizers?
Wild Mushroom Ravioli Truffle Beurre Blanc, Fresh Shaved Parmesan Seafood Bisque Fresh Fruit Plate with Raspberry Coulis Fried Calamari & Hot Cherry Peppers Cilantro Pesto & Marinara Oysters Rockefeller Manhattan Style Baked Clams Butternut Squash Bisque Clams on the Half Shell Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail
Those are the choices for the appetizer course at the restaurant we are going to.
It's sit down, so we won't be eating all of them- I get to pick one. Torn between the baked clams and the Calamari!

I am making baked brie with fig jam. I don't know what else my parents are serving though
I was given a canned jar of fig jam a few years ago, this would be a great way to use it
NV seems like a lot of work and I dont know if the home I'm going to has the space to cook my brie :( sounds good though

You could just let the brie come to room temperature and pour the ham over it. In fact you could do just about any cheese with fig jam on the side imo!

It's the easiest thing ever, lol
ETA: all you have to do is warm the brie and poor jam over it. I omit anything else because of my BF's allergies

stright and MrsT, most recipes show wrapping the brie in puff pasty lol,
and pouring the jam etc inside or over then bake. Now Im worried the jam is no good, it has to be a few years old. I guess I can omit the jam

You could also but the frozen phyllo cups. Add a little bit of brie and jam to each. Super easy and delicious.
