what age for size 3 clothes

DD is currently 20 months and for the most part in size 2 (T). She's pretty good on clothes for the winter but i have gymbucks to spend and wondering if its safe to buy size 3 in spring clothes or if she'll be in 2 a while and I should buy size 2 in spring.

Basically at what age did your LO start wearing size 3?

DD is 2.5 and still in a 2T.
I feel like she will be in it for awhile too.
She is under just 30 pounds if that helps

My DD is going to be 3 years old in May. She has been wearing size 2/2t pretty much since she was 2!! So for 9 months now. At first they were slightly loose, now they fit just right but she also has not gained that much weight (just getting taller). She weights 28 pounds. So I guess it depends on your LO.

When did she start wearing 2T? Does she have room in them? If she just started, she might be in that size for a while.

My DS started wearing 2T last month when he turned 2. He will prob remain in 2T through the Spring/Summer since he has room. He's 27lbs.

DD is tall and was in 18-24 months/@t for only about 4-6 months, she moved into 3T for this past spring and summer, and has been in 4T since Sept. She will be 3 in March and weighs about 32 lbs.

DD wore size 2T from 13 months to about 2 1/2. She turned 3 in September and wore 3T tops and bottoms from age 2 1/2 to about 2 months after her 3rd birthday. She is now in 4T tops and 3T bottoms. Her arms are to long for 3T and it is to short on her torso. She still comfortably fits into 3T jeans, dresses and pants. FWIW my son is the same way. He wears one size larger in shirts than in pants because of arm length too. DS is 5 1/2 and wears a 7 shirt and 6 pant.

ETA: DD is 34 lbs and 38 3/4 inches. She is 3 years and 3 months old.

2T pants and 3T tops! He can even wear some 4T tops if they run on the smaller side.

It is hard to tell - depends on the child.

My DD is 23 mos and has been wearing 3T in tops since the end of the summer/some in the summer (so around 18 mos). Some 3T are getting small on the belly now. Although gymboree shirts in 3t are very room for her. She is sitll in 2T pants (Old Navy stuff is getting small but still wearable).

I will be buying her 4T in tops for the sumer and 3 T bottoms and mostly 3T in dresses. She is tall and chubby. At her 18 mo visit she was 90+ percentile for height and weight. I think she dropped a little for weight however - thinning out slightly but still has a big belly!!!

DS is 3.5. He wears 3T tops and a mixture of 2T and 3T bottoms. The 2T pants are a little too short but the 3T is a little too long!

My son is 26 months and has been wearing 3t tops--depending on the brand-- for a few months. He wears 2t bottoms. My middle DD was like that as well, but my oldest was always true to size down to the exact day almost!

That said, I find Gymboree runs larger and I think you should buy 2t for spring...she'll only just be turning 2, right?

Totally depends on the kid. DD is 19 months and I will only buy 3T pants now - some 2T pants are too short on her. She can still fit in some 18 month tops, but needs longer pants. I think 2T tops and anything short (skirt, dress, shorts) will fit her at least until the fall.

I think you could always but the size 3 shirts. usually my DD goes into a bigger shirt before pants and you can always wear a bigger shirt, but not always pants.

My dd is 30 months and wears a 2t. I got her size 2t for spring and some 3t shirts for summer but still 2t in shorts. She is 27 lbs.

She wears 3T on top/sometimes 4T in brands like ON and Target
She is very petite but is tall and has long arms/torso
2T on bottom, even though they are becoming shorter at the legs but I still need to use waist adjusters

I think it depends on each child
