Well here I am again...emotional about weaning
I just found my post from 2 years ago when I was going through this same exact thing with my first.
DD2 will be 9 months this weekend and for numerous reasons, I've started weaning her off BFing. With DD1 I was an emotional WRECK doing it, but I was pretty confident there'd be a future DC so I got through it. DD2 may be my last. This could be the last child I nurse. I am ready to wean her physically, but emotionally I can't stop feeling guilty and sad. I know once we're done and my boobs return to some type of normal looking bodily part, I will be fine. We both will. If you've gone through this you understand...it's just that connection, that bonding that I will miss. The way she looks at me and smiles and a lil dribble of milk escapes from the corner of her mouth. The way she reaches up to rub my cheek or play with my hair and she giggles. The way I can COUNT on at least 15 minutes each night of total silence and alone time with just her (which of course I will still have when she's drinking bottles).
Eh. Just a rough time. I need to be done weaning by next week b/c of traveling for work etc so having a definite time frame is really hard too.
Thanks for letting me babble.
