weird question about babies belly button
until it falls off does the baby need to wear special clothes - meaning can it not wear certain things?
also when does it usually fall off?

I was told to buy little undershirts instead of a one-piece onesie until the belly button heals. The stub usually falls off in the first few weeks.

I had my kids in regular clothes. I hated those side snap shirts, they bunched up under everything.
It fell off in about 2 weeks.

I had my DS in regular onsies and it fell off within 10 days maybe.
ITA about the side snap shirts they always bunched up on us

I used Regular Onesies and it fell off around 10 days 
You just have to make sure your baby's diapers don't cover the cord, if you baby wears NB diapers they have that cut out where the belly button or if your baby goes straight to size one you just have to fold the diaper so it doesn't touch the cord.
