I use alumnimum foil....

in the freezer too?

I am generally a big fan or foil.

Yep, I also use aluminum foil in the freezer. All of my chicken breasts are individually wrapped in aluminum foil.

As for storage, I have a ton of storage containers that I reuse. I pack my baby carrots, lettuce and cucumbers in them every day. DH also has one for his Cheerios that he eats daily. We also use thermal lunch bags so that we don't need to use brown bags.

Of course in the freezer! Seriously, I don't mean to 'date' myself or my family...but ziplock bags are a "new" invention for us!

you could get the ziplocks and re-use them. Rinse, dry, fold and use the next time. :)

Or use plastic or glass containers with fitted lids.

thats what i do

I freeze meat in the wrap it comes in usually. I don't really buy large quanties that need to be frozen - and I rarely freeze anything for longer than a week because I am a weirdo. BUT.. you can buy a vacuum seal container kit that will suck the air out of the reuseable plastic containers.. that should guard well against freezer burn!

here is my dilema (and where I will probably outweird you)

I am not a big fan of freezing food. but we do lead a halfie kinda fly by the seat of your pants life right now in that cooking meat that is in the fridge can get pushed off for a few days and then I am afraid to make it.

so I throw it in the freezer,,,and then on the day I want to make chicken, I forget to take it out. so I have to go to the supermarket anyway to buy chicken even though I have some in the freezer.

and then it stays in the freezer. until I look around and remember it again...and then I am afraid to eat it. b/c I am convinced it has freezer burn.

I am a disaster.Chat Icon

I do the same thing...I thought I was the only mess!

If you are afraid of cross-contaminating meat to anything just write in magic marker MEAT on any bag that has meat in it. CHICKEN too. This way after you wash it, meat goes back in, not your DHs yummy lunch.
