Weekend Projects!
What projects did everyone work on this weekend?
My DH and I are redoing our home office and guest room...what a PITA!!
We are actually switching the guest room (bigger room) to use as our office which is the smaller room right now.
We cleared out the guest room, spakled the walls, cleared out the closet and took out the rug (just from the closet for now).
Dh installed a new light fixture in the middle of the room, that works from the light switch.
Next step is to paint the closet and the ceiling. We ordered a closet system from a place called Easyclosets.com. You can do almost any configuration....and NO shipping!!
I have so much crap in my living room and I havent even started to empty out the office. We want to have both rooms emptied, and painted and then get the rugs installed.
It actually coming together really well. I am taking pictures as we go along!!

Re: Weekend Projects!
we both worked saturday, then did the lowes home depot run in the afternoon, then I went to a fundraiser. Sunday morning we started on the guest bath reno, I made a thread about it. My house is a WRECK...I'm not even going to stress about it because it will be a couple of weeks till the work is done & DHs tools will be everywhere till then! We need to get the inside stuff finished because we have tons of work to do outside!

Re: Weekend Projects!
DH was away this weekend so I took advantage of the nice weather on Saturday & did some yardwork
Cleaned out all the flowerbeds Weeded everything out Raked the front & back lawn to get up any dead grass laid some seed in spots that needed it Leveled out dirt from where our new patio was put Swept the dirt residue in the street that was left from the dumpster cleaned off our front bench Installed flexible gutter drains on our patio
Next weekend DH & I will be at Lowe's getting new screening trees & begin ripping down the fence in the front yard..

Re: Weekend Projects!
We started cleaning around our shed, so that we can start to repair & paint the shed over the next couple of weekends. So we raked out a lot of the leaves and stuff back there. Found lots of wood and siding pieces from the house. Then there was all the red bricks that the old owners just throw behind the shed on the other side. Well that took up most of our time. There were so many bricks because over time I guess they got buried in the dirt. I still would like to hurt those owners. Every project with this house reveals something new and stupid that they left us with. Now we just need to get rid of the bricks. We also need to put a new door and trim/molding pieces on the shed and regrade the dirt in that area. Have pics, but didn't download yet.

Re: Weekend Projects!
You might want to keep the bricks.
we found a ton of bricks on our property also and we used them to make planters out front of our house.
If you dont want to keep them, put them on Craigslist...someone will take them!!

Re: Weekend Projects!
jen try putting the old bricks on craigslist-free section. People are always looking for used bricks, stack them somewhere that's easy to get to & put in the ad they have to carry them to their vehicle.

Yes Helen...we went to Expo and nothing really hit us but then we went to Lowes and found the perfect one!!
I worked all day yesterday, so Harry had to do the wiring all by himself....he said it wasnt that bad. Just had a littel bit of a pain to find the screw that he put in the ceiling for the middle of the room, where the fixture is going to hang!!

Re: Weekend Projects!
Something is definitely living in my shed. I had a bag of birdseed that was on the floor. I know I had it neatly stacked in the cormer when I put it in there.
Well I went in there yesterday and there is damm birdseed all over the floor of the shed. Duh. I know it didn't just tip over on it's own.
When it gets warmer out I am cleaning out the shed and getting rid of that birdseed. It must attract wildlife.
