Re: Wedding related ?
I think its very rude not to go to the table of alll of your guests. If people thought enough to come to your wedding and give you a gift, they at least deserve a thank you in person. At my sister's wedding , she and her husband started going to the tables as soon as they got in and once they made their rounds to everyone had more than enough time to enjoy their wedding.

but can't a person thank someone in person at the cocktail hour? dance floor? receiving line? Does it have to be at the tables in your opinion?

Re: Wedding related ?
It is rude if you make no attempt to thank your guests at all, which I have experienced at MANY weddings.
We did a receiving line and made a speech at the reception, thanking everyone for coming and we would see them on the dancefloor. I knew I didn't want to spend precious time visiting every table.
I always recommend a speech over table hopping.....
You are only 2 people and EVERYONE wants to spend forever talking to you.....there goes your whole reception. If guests would actually remember that you have so many other people to talk to you, they wouldn't talk to you about your job and the weather and stuff that you can chat about any other day!!!!

Re: Wedding related ?
We made the rounds to everyone, though we had a small wedding and it was probably easier for us. Still, there was one table we didn't get to until the very end of the wedding.
Was this a huge wedding, or were they just not making the rounds at all?
It is tough, with everything going on, pictures, dancing, dinner, cake, etc., but I do think an effort to speak to most, if not all guests, should be made.
