We have to say goodbye tomorrow...UPDATED: She's gone
I am hysterically crying as I write this right now. My cat Persia, my loving pet of almost 18 years, is very sick and has been for a while. It seems to have progressed to a point of no return now...she won't eat, is weak and just wants to lay by herself. We know that it is time to say goodbye and are taking her to be put to sleep tomorrow. I don't want her to suffer but I can't help feeling like an executioner. I keep wondering if we should try more treatments to get her well, but I really don't know if it's fair to put her through any more. Please pray that she passes peacefully over the rainbow bridge tomorrow...that she is not scared or in pain. This is the hardest thing I have ever had to do in my life. Please pray for my Persia 
UPDATE:
Well, my baby is gone. I am absolutely heartbroken. I'm sure that one day I'll realize it was the right thing to do but I hate myself right now. She's only been gone an hour but I miss her so much! I can't stop crying. When will this pain go away?

Ugh, there is nothing like having to go through putting a beloved pet down. I'm so sorry... My heart aches for you.
I suppose you could talk to the vet to see if he/she thinks there's anything left to try but remember you don't want your precioous furbaby to suffer or to prolong any kind of suffering...
It's the worst decision to make...

God, I am so sorry! I can't imagine having to make that decision and my heart breaks just thinking about it.
Life really is unfair sometimes- I often wished that pets would all just pass peacefully in their sleeps- and that nobody would EVER have to make the decision to put them down.
There really isn't anything any of us can say to make you feel better, I know.
Just hang in there and be strong...

I'm so sorry. I went through this a couple of weeks ago with my cat, Figaro. It really was the hardest thing I've ever done but I know, it was for the best. He was ready to go and I was with him the whole time.

I am so sorry for your loss :(
We just had to say goodbye to my baby of 16 years. It is so hard but it does get better with time. I still miss her but at least I don't cry everyday.

i'm so sorry renee! i know the heartbreak you are feeling all too well!! Take comfort in knowing you did the right thing!! i hated myself after having to put down our dog, I questioned myself for quite some time, but when all is said and done, I know we did the right thing by her!!

Awww...I'm sorry. There's really nothing I can say to ease your pain. Just know you did the right thing and while it hurts like hell now, as time passes it will get easier. You'll never forget him and your lil man will always have a place in your heart but eventually it will get a little easier.

It gets better- but over a year later, I still cry for my cat furbaby- Icarus- aka ''Icky", he had to be put down while I was away on a cruise in Alaska. I cried and cried. My thoughts are with you during this terrible time.

You can add your furbaby to a candle lighting ceromony, etc

I'm so sorry
When I had to put my almost 17 year old Gizmo to sleep last month it was about a week that I couldn't stop crying. Now a month later I still get sad at random times during the day when I think about him, but it does get easier.
I am so sorry, I know exactly how you feel.

I'm so sorry, it's the worst thing to have to do...
I cried every day for a long time...maybe a few months. It's been over 2 years, and every once in awhile I'll think of my Smudge and get upset. But I know she's waiting for me...
