We are in contract!

This was soooo not planned at all! Closing date will be from July 15th- August 15th. I am due August 20th with TWINS! Chat Icon Chat Icon
The timing could not be any worse, but thats just the way things worked out. I posted before about how we were looking casually for awhile (about a year) for a good deal on a "forever" home. We originally saw this house back in January. My #1 favorite house sold for full price, all cash! When we lost house #1 we put an offer on this house. This house was DH's favorite. I absolutely love the house but am not crazy about the property. After a few counter offers we gave our best offer and was turned down and that was the end of that. Fast forward to 2 weeks ago, we get a call from our realtor asking us if we were still interested in the house because the homeowners are now willing to accept our offer. It stinks because we lost our on the tax credit, but this is the type of house and size property we have been wanting forever so we decided to go for it!
Its about t3 x the size of this house, 4 x the property size, and the perfect PERFECT layout.
Its just awful timing! I don't know how we're going to pull this off. We have to pack this whole house, try to keep it clean with a 2 year old for showings, and sell this house... at the same time I am trying to pack up and sell my deceased mother's house. I am hoping I don't go into labor early!

P.S. if anyone is interested in a house in Centereach or Kings Park let me know. My house is currently listed and my mom's should be ready soon.

Even though the timing isn't ideal, it will all work out Chat Icon

We also had a bad timing situation with selling our co-op and buying our house while pregnant! I was 2 months pregnant when we put our co-op on the market and it sold in a week. It was great, but we had no where to go! We decided to put everything in storage and moved into a furnished 1BR apartment in the city. We found a house when I was 7 months pregnant and closed on it 4 days after I gave birth (I gave DH power of attorney) Chat Icon We then had work done while I had a newborn and moved in when DS was 2 months old. It was crazy but it all worked out!!

Good luck Chat Icon

Re: We are in contract!

Thanks!
We just put our house on the market so hopefully we will still be living here while we close and paint the other house. Isn't it crazy I am hoping this house takes a while to sell? It would just be so much easier on me with the babies coming.

Re: We are in contract!

I feel your pain!!! I was due 12/7 and we were scheduled to close sometime in November. Well......I was admitted to the hospital on bed rest at like 35ish weeks....and while I was there they called to close!!!!! Luckily they were understanding and my lawyer was able to have it pushed back 2 weeks.
The babies were born 11/5 and we closed 11/23 Chat Icon
It will all work out.....remember to take it east and take care of those babies!!!! Chat Icon

The couple we bought our house from were in a similar situation as you. It all worked out for them in the end and it will for you too. Good luck!

Re: We are in contract!

Congrats!! We had a similar situation with our house. When we went to see it there was an accepted offer so we didn't bother bidding but we did love it, then a couple months later it came back on the market b/c the deal fell through and the current owner had to sell quick, so we got it, and we wound up getting it for 40k lower then the original asking price.

Just do what I do and hire a TON of help. Hire somebody to handle everything. Pack. Move. Etc.

Give yourself AND your DH a break. Chat Icon Because you will need it before the twins show up!
