Water in Basement...
This morning when I looked out the window I knew we were in for it. The way it was raining and the snow was melting basically the snow/ice was sliding right into the gutters and blocking them, which caused all of the water to drip right down the side of the house. It's hard to keep the gutters clear of snow and ice. Is there anything we can really do about this right now or are we stuck waiting until it warms up a bit to find a better solution?

Re: Water in Basement...
We're in the same boat. DH is down there with a wet vac now trying to clean it up. I put a triple layer of towels over the wet spots before I went to work and when we got home the towels were soaking wet. With all the rain and snow and ice out there I don't think there is anything we can do about it now.

Re: Water in Basement...
I think it's pretty much hopeless right now. Our gutters are frozen solid and roof has 4+inches thick layer of ice. We tried pushing it off but it's solid. We got water inside our ceiling on the first floor, b/c the gutters can't take the run off and it gets pushed back under the roofline. I spoke to our roofer and he told us he is getting so many calls and that the last time he saw a winter like this was about 8 years ago. He said this was insanity and not the norm at all.
Honestly I dont know what we can do, if the gutters arent working, many are in for water inside their home for sure. Our roofer also told us to just ride it out b/c the solutions are limited right now and that it is more this winter than a problem with our home.
