In your livingroom/den, where you watch the most tv...

Do you have a wall unit or a TV stand?

Re: Wall Unit or TV stand

RIght now, we have the tv sitting on a coffee table (temporary)
It will eventually be hanging on the wall though.

I prefer the unit to the stand becasue I like to be able to have doors to close so you don't always see the tv.

Re: Wall Unit or TV stand

right now we have a medium sized ent. center with a reg. tube TV. once we get a flat panel, I would like for it to be hung on the wall... and maybe get a small cabinet for the DVD player, cable box, stereo, etc.

Re: Wall Unit or TV stand

Since our living room is on the small side, we have just a TV stand. We're in the market to upgrade to something a little fancier with doors/shelves on it for some storage (like what Julz posted above), but no big wall units for us at this point. No huge TV either!

Re: Wall Unit or TV stand

We have a huge 5 piece wall unit. It works fine for our 3:4 aspect 27" TV, but we can only upgrade to about a 32" wide-screen LCD. Anything bigger won't fit in the space. Not a big problem, but if i ever want a bigger TV, I'll have to figure out where to put it.

i am not a fan of wall units or e-centers so i bought 2 tall and 1 small bookcase. the tall bookcases are decorated w/ books and accessories, the smaller w/ books w/ the tv on top.

This is ours, from Ikea.

We have this shelf to the left of the tv stand. It is from the same series at the TV stand.

For us, a huge wall unit wouldn't work because of the room's layout. I'm also not a fan of the huge one-piece things- I like the units you can create by putting separate pieces together- then if you get bored you can re-arrange. We could have made ours look more like a unit by getting another shelf like the one above and adding a shelf piece above the tv thing.
