Re: Voting this morning
I voted at 10 am. It was packed. Hard to find parking. I was number 95. In other elections I voted at similar times and was about number 20. So there was a huge turn out today.

Re: Voting this morning
I have always voted in the evenings when in NYC and tbere were almost always long lines. First time voting on the island this evening. Should be interesting to see if the line will be shorter.

I'll vote tonight AFTER work
me too! I was surprised as my other non -morning people friends voting early. As it is, I am up at 6:45 for work, and my polling place is a mile away in the opposite direction of my train.
I prefer to wait until my husband is home from work with the car. polls are open until 9 pm in NYS. You just need to be on line by 9pm.

For me it always is. I rarely wait at all at night where I vote. Go at dinner time if you can

We went around 6:30 and it was busier than I thought it'd be. I'm *super* bummed they didn't have stickers for us and all the workers looked at me like I was crazy when I asked!
HAHA I thought the same thing as well, "heyy no "i voted" sticker!" lol
Found this on Newsday about the stickers:
Officials on Long Island say it comes down to the budget. Suffolk County's Republican elections commissioner Nick LaLota said "to my knowledge" Suffolk has never given out the stickers. "If we were to give them out to each of the 750,000 voters that are expected to come out today, that would probably cost about $75,000. And we just don't have that in the budget," he said. David Gugerty, Nassau's Democratic elections commissioner, also pointed to budget constraints but said he hopes to make stickers available in the future. "I think it's a terrific idea to try and encourage people to vote and make people who have voted feel proud," he said. "Right now, our budget is tight and the priority is to make sure we have enough poll inspectors and workers. But I would like to see where we could make cuts in the budget so that we can offer stickers in elections to come."

Voting this morning
I went around 11:30 with DH and my sister who votes at the same polling place. We didn't wait at all and I was #150 according to the machine.

See, this is crap. Why should you have to get up early only to have to return later in the day? This is why I think voting should be extended to more than one day.

Voting this morning
There were huge lines at our polling place but only for one district. My district we flew in and out, the other had an hour wait from 7am when my mom went, 11 when my dad went, and 3 when I was there. Never seen that before and it made no sense.
