Odd. If they're non-recovering alcoholics & you gave them a gift of Grey Goose maybe it signlaed to them that you're drinkers?
Why not invite them over one night during the week?

I think wine or any other alcohol is a VERY common gesture of thanks. If a person is in recovery or not, a gift should be accepted or rejected graciously. If they are in recovery or do not drink at all, they very easily could have said "Thank you, but we do not keep alcohol in our home." I wouldn't have been offended by that if I had given a response like that. Id respect that person's choice.

that's what I was thinking too but of course, it's the gesture that counts...I would think of a reason to go over there (like, can we borrow your ladder or something like that) just to see whats up.
