Vera Bradley moms
Im asking DH for a bag for chritsmas-
I want something that could hold my wallet(which Im also asking for the wallet/checkbook combo that  )keys, phone, a few diapers, and the cheerio holder...
Is the baby bag big enough for this??? Too big? Are you happy with your bag?
Im just tired of always lugging around 2 bags... and thought this would be a good way...

I got this one a few months ago for the same reasons as you, I didn't want a bulky diaper bag anymore, but needed something big enough to carry some of Julia's things.
I found this bag to be great! Its a Vera Bradley.
I can fit 2 or 3 diapers in it, snacks for Julia, wipes case, and my stuff. I usually just keep her sippy in my cup holder of my car. Image Attachment(s):

I have the diaper bag and you can definately fit all of that in there --- the only thing is that even though they aren't super huge, they stretch, so you can TOTALLY get carried away with stuffing it, if you are prone to over-stuffing bags...
I have the hobo bag as my purse bag....it's big enough for a few diapers .... you might want to look into that.
Also seriously go to the website and do a zipcode search -- there is a store in sayville that sells them --- I totally recommend looking at them in person --- you might realize that you like a bag you weren't even thinking about.
I am the biggest fan in the world. This is the hobo bag that I have in java blue.

honestly the baby bag is pretty big!! I found myself bumping into everything with it while using it on my shoulder so i stopped using it.
however I bought the "carryall" bag and its just the right size to use as a purse/diaperbag..this is what it looks like, except I got it in java blue
also has 4 inside pockets besides the outside pockets

I used the "Carry ALL" as my Diaper Bag this summer and it fit alot but wasen't as big as the real Diaper bag and still fit everything I needed plus a bottled water for me on one side and milk in a sippy on the other and it closed which was great.
Now that I don't need to carry jars and I go out with
4 size 5 diapers
Small package of CVS wipes
Sippy with Milk
Wallet
Checkbook
Camera
Cell phone (outside zipper pocket)
Tide pen
Cherrios and Kix's in snack ziploc
tampons
pen
lipstick
small truck
** oops there is also fruit snacks and motrin in there**
I can still pop the top closed.
if I add a book or a few other things I leave the tote open. I now use the "bucket tote" in Alpine Black it was 30% because she's retiring the color.
It was an awesome sale. I got the tote, organizer, makeup bag and checkbook cover.
I love that they are washable but the colors do tend to fade in the Florida sun since were outside alot. I try to have a summer and winter bag.

I like the VB diaper bag but IMO its on the big side when you are starting to downsize on the baby stuff.
When I didn't need a true diaper bag anymore I got one of these, a VB Betsy bag in vibrant Black - this isn't the color but its the style

it held everything you mentioned for a trip to the store - wallet, phone, some make up, brush, camera, diapers and wipes, snacks and a drink - or a few hours out.
I do keep extra in the car though, I always have, in case my day is longer than expected or whatever reason. Dipaers, wipes and an outfit. That extra bag in the back of the car also morphed into "the restaurant" bag LOL filled with lots of distractions- toys, more snacks, books, etc... this way if we decide to eat out I already have it and grab it instead of carrying that stuff in my real bag as a 'just in case'.

Yes, but its limited stock online. Hard to find in stores and not available in the four newest colors since she stopped making them.
For example I love the Mediallon fabric and its not available in the Carry ALL.

The carry all in shorter but longer then the tote. If you need to carry a change of clothes and since you need to carry heavier clothes then me I'd say your better off with the Carry ALL
The tote snaps and the outer pocket zippers and the carry all zippers and the outer pockets snap.
But the Carry all is pretty sweet that the sippys fit in the outer pockets as do bottled water.

Now I dont know what to do if I cant get the carry all...

Did you find yourself limited with the betsy with the zipper? I thought about that one because I liked the zipper to keep Jack out of the bag right now but then I was afraid with sippys it might be a pain the close. I thought if I went smaller I was better with the possibility for it to be open..... just wondering how it worked out for you?

no side pockets, but I worked for me. the sippes stood up fine.

IMO, VB made a huge mistake stopping the production of the carry all because the side pockets were a perfect size for a diaper bag. Who knows maybe it competed with the diaper bag she makes too much. I can't really help you there I'm hoping she brings it back.
Do you like the carry all in any of the older patterns then you could still get the wallet... and keep your collection going....
Donna tends to like the Betsy! And if you want a zipper I think its your best bet

It worked fine for me, I usually only carry one sippy, but I guess if I ditched the camera you could fit another. With all the other stuff in there they stood upright, if leaking was your concern. I never had a leak.
If it was a *really* hot day I did notice a little condensation on the outside of the sippee (juice) so I would either wrap a paper towel around it or bring it empty and buy where ever I was going so it was fresh.
it has a small front pocket for my phone and a few inside pockets to organize smaller items.

If you put things in the zipper in back (not the main zipper) it takes from the main compartment and IMO the side pockets were too small for anything thicker then a water bottle which I think is what the 1/2" difference is in the width... etc...
It's the room your lacking without the bigger side pockets and the room taken from the back pocket which in the carry all was somewhat seperate.
