Vaccum recommendations?

So we'll be moving into our house within a few weeks and am looking for a good vaccum, since the bedrooms are carpeted and we have a baby on the way, i'de like to get one that will pick up most dirt and dust.

Any recommendations?

Re: Vaccum recommendations?

I just went thru this last week. We got a Hoover windtunnel upright bagless, hope this helps. We got it at PC Richards in Carle Place, we got the newer model. We did not want to spend the money on a Dyson, even though they say it is great - I just could not spend that much for a vacuum, just my opinion.

Re: Vaccum recommendations?

I HATE my dyson.... i have the dyson animal and while it does pick up the hair, i have to actually physically cut the hair from the brushes every use... also with the dyson i have you have to use a stair tool for the steps and carry the vac at the same time because the hose, while it says is long enough for a flight of stairs, doesnt make it up my flight.... the thing is also extremely heavy and has alot of maintenance..... lets just say i now can get the vaccum broken down to 20 pieces in 5 minutes

I have had the Hoover WindTunnel upright for a couple of years now and I think it works great but we don't have any pets so I'm not sure how it is with hair.

I also have the dyson animal, and I like it alot. I have never had a bagless and upgraded from an old hoover, so maybe that's why I don't notice the problems the other poster wrote LOL

I have two: a Kenmore and a Miele. Both are great.

We have the Kenmore Progressive Upright Vacuum which I really like and a Electrolux ErgoRapido which I love. It's a dust buster that hooks into the taller part, so it's great for getting up cheerios or under the kid's chairs at the table, but I'm not crawling on the floor any more. The dust buster part comes out so I can use it that way too if I need.

Re: Vaccum recommendations?

we have the dyson ball and we LOOOOVE it!! Chat Icon so easy to maneuver and is very light. and it sucks up more cat hair than i ever realized could be hiding in our carpets (yuck but thank goodness we're getting it out!!)...i def recommend it!
