uti while pregnant
Hi girls..
I am so mad I was just diagnosed with a UTI!
My doctor prescribed Macrobid.. I am just so against taking meds while preggo but have no choice. Just wanted to see if anyone else had to take this med while preggo..thanks

I had a UTI when I was first pregnant with my son and I took the same meds.
You're right, you kind of have no choice because an untreated infection isn't the best alternative to taking antibiotics.

I got one in the first few weeks and was prescribed the same thing. I didnt like taking anything either, but you cant mess around with an infection

You don't have much of a choice unfortunately.
I freaked out when I got a UTI because articles came out last nOvember about the meds causing birth defects, the problem is that untreated UTI's are worse that the low possibility of the side effects of the meds!
Double edged sword really...so try not to worry!

I had to take this antibiotic 3x earlier on in my pregnancy (all because of UTIs).... The outcome could be worse if you try and wait out the UTI without using meds....

I just took the same thing I had a UTI and a bladder infection.. (worst pain EVER).. They wouldn't give it to you if they thought is was bad

I had to take the same meds around 12 weeks. I only found out I had a UTI because I tsarted to bleed morning and went to the ER.
I was very nervous too so I called the emergency number to my DR's office and my DR. said the effects of of the infection are a lot worse and that this medicine is safe for the baby.
I know how you feel..I am so against medicine right now. I have been sick 3 times thoughout this pregnancy and I took nothing!

take tjhem I was so stupid I didnt take it because I had no symptoms and a week later I wasn in the hospital with a severe KIDNEY infection the infection went to my bladder and then my kidnies I tought I was going to die I couldnt walk or pee.
Macrobid is ok
