Uti..could possibly be pregnant!

Hi, I'm new to this board!

My dh just started ttc!

I'm so upset I developed a uti.

I wanted to know if anyone else had a uti after ttc?

I really feel like I'm pregnant and nervous about being on Macrobid.

Does anyone take Cranberry pills while being pregnant?

I had a UTI one week before knowing i was prego.. I asked my ob about and they told me a UTI is sometimes a symptom of pregnancy.. I told me sis and she realized she had one before all of her pregos.

ETA: my doc had put me on cipro and i had asked my ob if that could have done anything to baby, and said no its safe for pregnancy.

I had one while TTC. After that I always made sure to keep hydrated, drink lots of cranberry juice and go to the bathroom IMMEDIATELY after bd'ing. Do not sit around to give his guys time to swim up. His guys are not going anywhere! They're already up there.

I told my dr that I may be pg and he gave me an antibiotic that was safe. don't remember the name though.

You could also get a UTI from doing a lot of BD'ing!! Make sure you always pee after BD!!

I am so nervous! I took three doses of Macrobid then had a really upset stomach. I skipped a dose and today my symptoms were back. Took a dose this morning and now my stomach is queasy. I don't want to have diarrhea and have to take antibiotics not a good combo. I have been taking cranberry pills, but it doesn't seem to be helping me much. Now I have a backache, I don't know if that is an early pregnancy symptom or if it's the uti.

If you could describe your early pregnancy symptoms were they like a Uti....backache, gassy, upset stomach, cramping???

Keep taking the macrobid! I know it ***** and is sooo hard...but try it with a tall glass of milk!! If you are preggers...you don't want to hurt the baby by not fixing the UTI!!! My only symptom was sore boobs!!!!! But everyone is different!

While DH and I were TTC I constantly got UTI's More of a PITA than anything. Does your Dr. that gave you the prescription know you are in the 2ww? I'm not sure if it is the same meds that you are taking but pg women get UTI's and are given safe meds. I am sorry - but I just cannot remember the name of what I was on.

I would call tomorrow and find out if it is safe while in the 2ww.

Also, during both of my pregnancies I never experienced any symptoms.

I have a long history of UTI"s. I am sorry you have one, they really s uck. I have had 2 while pregnant and was on Macrobid both times. It has not done any harm to my baby. Not clearing up the infection could have landed me with a kidney infection and preterm labor. So keep taking your meds. Try taking it with food and you need to drink a lot of water while on it. Thank you! The doctor does know I may me pregnant. She said Macrobid was fine to be on. I feel bad I have to be on it, but I also know I have to get rid of the uti. I am just worried Macrobid is going to make my stomach so upset I will have diarrhea not being able to eat right foods at this point.

I try to be so careful about Uti's, I heard it could be an early sign of pregnancy. I also have breast tenderness, & a backache. I just have this feeling I'm pregnant...I don't know what it is...we'll see.

Never had UTI, but sometimes its safe to go with your gut instinct. We conceived on our honeymoon, and i remember just having a really strong vibe i was pregnant. My first test came back negative, but the next day i tested again and it was positive!!!
Good luck and keep us posted. Also, my boobs were KILLING me, but at the time i didn't realize that was a sympton.
