Thanks girls. The Dr. did not give me any indication that this could still be a viable pregnancy. She said it's an early miscarriage.
And they will monitor my hcg levels on a weekly basis to make sure they go back to zero and I should expect to get a period at that point. And then we can start trying again. No timeframe for how long that will take though.
Ugh... I had an alcoholic beverage yesterday evening and am now having a cup of coffee.... should I not be doing this yet?
it's fine. you're so early you don't even share a bloodline. I would almost wonder if it weren't possible that numbers could be high and go down if perhaps it could have been twins and one was absorbed / not viable. Not trying to fill you with false hope but I'd look into all options and opinions first.
I was thinking the same thing about a lost twin

I agree, it's a long shot, but it was my first thought since your first beta was on the high side to begin with. How many DPO were you when it was taken?
ETA: I just re-read the OP, sorry! Yeah unless your cycles are way off, and you were actually a lot more than 11 DPO, I would not give up hope yet

Thanks girls. I was definitely not more than 11dpo - I temp to confirm O and I had a very clear thermal shift this cycle. I just don't know what to think anymore.

I am doing okay - I really just want to know one way or the other. I am still getting +hpt's, but I've downgraded to dollar store tests cause the FRER's are $$$! And I don't really need the early result part since i'm like 19dpo.
I had my third beta this morning, so the results will be determinative. I should know tomorrow afternoon.
Thanks for checking in!

I don't understand why your doc hasn't done a sono?? If this is a possible ectopic, it should be diagnosed ASAP.

They did a baseline sono last week the day I went in for my first beta, but I was just a little over 3w at that point. At this point it's a little over 4w, so they still probably won't see anything on a sono. It's too early to tell anything. It *could* be normal.
But they are doing a sono tomorrow night as a precautionary measure. Will probably have to continue repeat betas and sonos.

they wont see anything on a sono this early and with a beta under 1000. furthermore ectopics generally cant be dx by sono this early. rising and falling and then rising betas are the first indicator.
good luck and def make sure they follow your betas very closely over the next few days!!
