Update on ultrascreen

well yestruday morning i went for my ultrascreen at dr. Haunauer office. I was happy to see my little bean and so amuzed by the personality that he or she had. I had my arms behind my head and so did the baby. Tech on the other hand didnt find it too cute and was annoyed with my baby that he/she wanted to lye face down, so she kept pushing on my stomach and not to gentle either to try and flip the baby whom wasnt cooperating. but i dont think i would either with force she was using. I know i read on here that an active baby is a healthy baby, now im worried cuz i feel like my baby wasnt moving too much. She measured the cervix and that is good so she says though she seemed annoyed that i knew to ask considering i was having some spotting, and the placenta is not lying low. The pictures she gave me are horrible they are so blurry and you cant hardly see anything. then she gave me a picture of the baby and said here is your alien and it is soo scary looking. Overall all i was happy to see my bean, and hear the heartbeat again. Im hoping that dr. Haunauer will take another peek next week considdering the lady was soooo rude.

She said the baby was scary looking? Chat Icon

Our tech was also grumpy. I also had my arms behind my head and she wasn't so nice about asking me to take them down...she had to press on my stomach on and off to get the baby to move.

I think everything went fine for you and your results were good, just that you had a grumpy tech. Chat Icon

Re: Update on ultrascreen

Call the Dr or Louise and let them know. The pushing on the stomach is not unusual to get the little bean to move, but the rest of her attitude is IMO unacceptable.

The sono tech I had for my 2nd Level 2 there was horrible and a beyotch too. I complained and they said they have gotten a bunch of complaints. I think her name was irina or something. The other lady, mara or something is very nice.

Baby G slept through 3, yes THREE attempts at the Level II. At one point we even got up & I drank a cola to try & wake him up. That finally did the trick.

I would still let her know. I had a similar incident last time I was PG & she handled it right away. I also had an incident this PG with one of the receptionists & Louise actually yelled at me for not calling her!Chat Icon

I don't blame you for not wanting to call. I always worry if I complain they will treat me badly afterwards.

Mine wasn't moving alot. She had to keep jigging my stomach with the wand to get baby to move. I am sure, as long as the heartbeat is good, the baby is doing well. Chat Icon

Let me guess, was the tech's name Irina? She needs to remove the pole from her rear end. She also pushed my stomach during my ultrascreen to try and wake the baby up. She didn't do it too hard, but harder than I would have liked.

Dr. H will go over everything with you once she has the results. The blood work is sent to a lab for analysis and it takes about a week to 10 days for that.

It's really just that one chick from what I've experienced. The other tech from Madonna, Mara, is a little quirky, but much nicer than Irina. I think Irina works there Tues. and Thurs. afternoons. Mara does Mondays and one other day I think.

Re: Update on ultrascreen

Supposedly they are trying to get Pat a couple of shifts too, but she is very requested at Madonna.

I had an appointment with Mara at 5w4d b/c I was cramping like crazy & she was like.. Wow you are hardly PG. I was like...either you are or you aren't honey. She kept her mouth shut after that.Chat Icon

I honestly think they get loopy stuck in that little closet all dayChat Icon

Try eating next time a little before your appt, or drinking something like juice. I was told that gets them going. I had a frozen snickers bar before my ultrascreen last thing and the baby was doing gymnastics, my dr was laughing but she said it usually works.

Re: Update on ultrascreen

I had a nasty girl at my ultrascreen as well but I went to Madonna in Babylon, she totally ruined the whole experience, so when we had my level II we made sure we didn't have her again and we were pleasantly surprised when they said she no longer worked there! Some people should really not work in certain professions! I can't believe she said "alien"

Re: Update on ultrascreen

I think I had the same tech lady.. yes, I agree she was not very gentle Chat Icon

ETA: she also wasn't explaining anything to me, so instead of a supposely fun session, it felt like a chore. Regardless, I loved seeing my baby.

Mine weren't moving around too much - they were waving their arms around and doing some kicking but weren't all over the place. Baby A was in the wrong position at first but turned after the tech was done measuring baby B.

ETA: the comments by the tech were completely unecessary and unprofessional. I would be very annoyed by that.

Re: Update on ultrascreen

Funny you just posted this because I was just doubting the service i have been receiving at hanauer's office. I find the receptionists to be pretty rude.

The ultrasound tech that I had was actually pretty nice. I had some bleeding scare and she made me feel very comforted by the end.

OMG! I so feel your pain about the waiting. Sometimes they will answer and put you on hold for OVER 30 minutes. Is this common at other places?

Re: Update on ultrascreen

i am sorry you had to go thru that, but i should tekll you that my baby was SO uncooperative during the ultrascreen, he was basically floating at the top the whole time, and the tech had to push hard on my stomach as well, but she did apologize for having to do it. the same thing happened at my first level II.

now he is incredibly active so i wouldn't worry one bit. he was most likely just sleeping Chat Icon

Re: Update on ultrascreen

I'm sorry you didn't have a good experience. Chat Icon I wouldn't worry about the baby not being active. Babies have active days and inactive days. Chat Icon was extremely cooperative at my ultrascreen. The tech was really pleased and commented several times about how good the baby was being. It makes it easier to get more accurate measurements. Chat Icon is extremely active now.

Re: Update on ultrascreen

that sono tech is an rude Azz!! sorry you had a bad experience.

Im sure your baby is fine and healthy so dont worry, just b/c he/she wasnt moving alot at that time doesnt mean they dont other times. She should have just given you a piece of candy that sugar probable would have made the baby move. I hate when you get a rude sono tech who ruins the moment for you.

I hope you dont get her again...

And no baby is an alien!! they are all cute and adorable, and i would like to punch her in the mouth.
