Update 12/9 blood work results

I wanted to update my original post but am on my iPhone so I can't!
I've been going through beta hell the past few weeks with increasing and doubling betas but on the low side. Last week my sono showed a yolk sac but I'm measuring on the small side. Today I am seven weeks and we saw a heartbeat. You'd think I'd be happy but my doctor was soooo negative Chat Icon Said the HR was slower than he wants it to be and I'm still measuring small. I asked him if implantation could have occurred later and he skirted around the question. He proceeded to say he would. Of advise a D&C at this time (no kidding!) and that he believes I will not see a heartbeat at my next appt and most likely miscarry . I am devastated - I can't believe how negative he's being and how he has no bed side manner. DH and I decided we would go see my regular OB next week since I'll be 8 weeks snd see what he thinks.

12/5: Went to my OB today. Had a sonogram and there is still a heartbeat. My transfer was on 10/27 so technically I should be either 8 weeks (if counting back to O date) or 7w4d (from transfer date). Today's sonogram showed me measuring 6w2d. My OB is a VERY positive person and wants me to focus on the fact that there IS a heartbeat (he's not concerned about the heartrate at this point) and that I am in fact pregnant. I can't shake the negative feelings though. He did blood work and will let me know what my beta is tomorrow, but my beta as of last Wednesday was only about 2,100. I can't help but feel like I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop Chat Icon I don't go back to the OB for another two weeks. I can't even enjoy this time because I'm so concerned about my low beta levels and the small size of the baby Chat Icon Does anyone have any experience with a similar situation?

12/9: And so the saga continues Chat Icon Got my blood work back from my OB appointment on Monday. My beta went from 2,100 to almost 4,800 but at 8 weeks pregnant this is VERY low Chat Icon It's still increasing, but considering that I'm measuring significantly small and my beta is low too, it's still not looking good. I go back Monday for another sonogram. This is just awful. I'm almost 8 1/2 weeks (and terribly bloated so I'm sort of "showing") and I am praying that this goes in one specific direction soon. This whole waiting game for the past month is complete torture Chat Icon

I can't beileve he is being so negative. I can understand that some doctors are not as "tender", but to be so negative about everything is just beyond me.

There is still a chance, and I think seeing your OB is a great idea. Chat Icon

May I ask what the heartrate was today? This is all so difficult but I hope for only the best!

So sorry you are going through this.

I believe your dr was the first dr I saw during my journey. He was always VERY negative. I left and went elsewhere after a few incidents with him and getting a second opinion that hugely differed from what he was recommending.

I have been following your rollercoaster ride and I really don't know much about this but doesn't it obviously seem that this is progressing???

I mean your beta rose, you saw a sac, and now have a heartbeat, it sounds like your doctor is really rude and a jerk, who could be a little more positive.

I really really REALLY hope that you get your baby out of this and can shove it in his face.

Praying for you time goes fast till your next hopefully happy appt!

Ugh, I'm so sorry that your doctor is so continually negative. It seems like everything is going just as it should be. What did your LO measure today? Everything seems to be going in the right direction, so I'm still so hopeful for you. first of all YAY for a heartbeat and I can't believe the dr is so negative.... can you go see someone else? Thisis such an emotional time that you shouldn't have to be dealing with such negativity

best of luck to you

Re: Update on my beta roller coaster 11/29

What an a$$!!! After seeing a heartbeat you would think he would say something positive. Even mentioning a D&C was not appropriate and then to say their may not be a heartbeat next sonogram was messed up. Are their any other RE's you can see in that practice or is he the only one?

Thank you all so much for your support. I called my ob today and will see him sometime next week and ride the rest of this out with him since I'll be eight week next week any way. I can't go back to my RE knowing he's so negative lately and making me so upset.

Re: Update on my beta roller coaster 11/29

I am so sorry you are going through this. Chat Icon I wanted to ask you though - do you think it is possible that your Dr is just trying to prepare you for the worst case scenario and not that he is being so negative? I am sorry to say this, but I feel like if he was seeing something in my pregnancy that raised a red flag, I would want to know so as to prepare myself for the possibility. While I pray he is wrong (and I will pray for you he is wrong), it sounds like he is preparing you to expect the worst while hoping for the best.

Regardless of his intention, if he makes you uncomfortable and upset, you should look for a dr you feel more comfortable with.Chat Icon i really really hope this works out for you.

The doctor is definitely preparing me for the worst case scenario and I TOTALLY understand why he's doing that. In my heart, I too am worried that this won't turn out to be a healthy pregnancy. However, he is always so negative and won't express ANY hope for this turning out well. Talking about a possible future D&C and miscarriage without even exploring the possibility of a happy ending just rubs me the wrong way. I'd rather he express his concerns and say let's take this week by week then be so negative - KWIM?
