Re: Ultrascreen results
Leslie - that's great news! I know you were nervous out your ultrascreen.

Re: Ultrascreen results
Great news!
My odds went from 1/200 to 1/417. Although we decided against an amnio regardless, I applaud your decision. It is a difficult one.

Re: Ultrascreen results
great news.
Don't rule out colace entirely- you will get to a point- several months form now, where constipation causes you pain wose than you can imagine labor hurting.

Re: Ultrascreen results
That's great news! My odds didn't change substantially after the ultrascreen. They were 1/218 based on my being 36, and stayed in the 200s after the test. We decided to have the amnio done - I just needed to know for sure.

Re: Ultrascreen results
great news about the ultrascreen! i am sure the amnio test is a very difficult choice to make, so good to hear you feel comfortable with it.
in terms of the anemia, you may (or may not ) find that you want to take the iron regardless of the constipation. i had the same issue and when i got to the second trimester i was so tired it was hard to go to work. the iron helped immensely, although the side effects are not pleasant. i have no prior digestional issues and used the slow fe (had not heard of repliva).

Re: Ultrascreen results
Great news! Hope you get great results on the amnio too.
After my c-section I had to take an iron pill and a stool softener. I really didn't notice that much difference in my bodily functions, but I know things are different for you post bypass surgery. Good luck!
