Ugly gifts...
So my MIL sent me a package with these trousers in it for Noah. The note enclosed says that she would like me to send her a picture of the kid wearing the trousers...no problem. BUT THE PANTS ARE THE DEVILS PANTS! They are possibly the ugliest pants in the whole of creation. There is no way in he-double-hockey-sticks that I would put my kid into these sissymakers.
So, the in laws are coming this weekend...I guess the right thing to do would be to put them on him when they get here so she can see the kid in her gift right??? It will pain me to do it, so go on, talk me into it. Even Noah told me he doesn't want to wear them!!!
Alas...said pants.

Re: Ugly gifts...
Put them on him just before he eats and some how run out of bibs that day. Maybe just maybe a spill will happen (like catsup) and those lovely pants will get a stain on them that just won't come out
ETA: And poor Noah was devesated too that his pants got ruined!

OMG, so who can I send them to! I bloody hate those stupid pants! I wanted to return them, but since she asked for a picture..I thought I had better keep them!
I know its the thought that counts and its a lovely thought, honestly, my MIL is lovely. Really...she always means well!!!
But those pants are bloody buggery ugly! Noah dresses like a ROCK STAR!!!

Noah doesn't like linen! And he surely doesn't like light denim! He is more a Carpenter Jeans sort of guy! These are just not his style...he is a rock star!!!
They are too babyish for him..well, at least, thats what he told me.
Again, it was so sweet of the MIL to send these on, they just aren't to our taste!!!

Re: Ugly gifts...
I think they're cute for a little baby...I'd put him in them, take a pic, email said pic and then accidentally spill bleach on those pants...

Re: Ugly gifts...
Right, so this is the post where I realise that its just me who is an ungrateful cow and everyone else loves those pants and I am just a horrible person who deserves to suffer.
Sorry!

Re: Ugly gifts...
I think they are cute. Put them on for the sake of a good afternoon. I have gotten some funky clothes from my in-laws & I put them on Patrick for the sake of a photo. And some of them ended up being so darn cute on him.

Re: Ugly gifts...
I also don't think they're THAT horrible. We've gotten worse! But maybe Noah needs to take up oil painting......while wearing the pants as a smock.
I think this thread should spin off into "what is the worst gift that anyone gave your kid?"

Re: Ugly gifts...
Hmm, I don't think they are ugly. Cute, even if very casual little boy pants.
Now, if someone gave it to you DH and demanded he wears it that would have been a problem...

I think Noah can suck it upf ro gandma's sake. Just keep reminding him "it's only for one day and you'll never have to wear them again!"

Re: Ugly gifts...
I've seen worse but those are definitely sissy pants. I do not like teddy bears or animals of any kind on DD's clothes so I get where you are coming from. I say put them on him and let him serve grandma her glass of red wine. Oops. Gone for good are the pants that hold the blue bear hostage.
