Re: Ugh (pumping related)

Haha I am the WORST with pumping because I'm lazy!! It's so much work! Now that Kieran is having fruits and veggies, I usually don't need to mix BM with his oatmeal, I just mix the food. So I hardly EVER pump anymore. I used to pump every single night before going to bed, now I do maybe once a week or so. And every day I go "I really need to pump tonight" Chat Icon

Wow, that's AMAZING!!! How much did you get when you pumped? DS just started STTN so I think I'm going to keep up pumping before I go to bed because I get 5oz in one sitting (I only get 1 to 2oz pumping after a feeding).

Yes me too!!!

Me too! I exclusively pump. I one set of parts for every time I pump so I just run them in the dishwasher at the end of the night. If I had to clean them in between, I would hate it too. I will say that pumping with a Symphony is easier than pumping with a PIS or Freestyle.

Same here. I don't mind pumping but I hate the cleaning and the extra work. I am thinking of getting an extra set of pump parts for when I go back to work so I can just have two clean sets every day at work.

The day I stopped pumping when I had DD, I felt like I was released from a ball and chain. Such a PITA!!!

My lactation consultant said that the parts do not need to be washed every time. i put them in a ziploc bag in the frig and wash them once a day.

it saves a ton of time!Chat Icon

Re: Ugh (pumping related)

It is not fun, but I try not to think about it. I've been ep'ing for 10 months now and I am soooo glad that it is almost over. The ped gave us the ok to start whole milk so today we are starting to give DS 1 oz of whole milk in his bottles and he should be on all whole milk by 11-11.5 months!!

The LC I saw in the hospital told me the same thing. She said rinsing with cold water immediately after pumping is sufficient and then wash them out every few times.
