Tuesday QOTD

hello everyone! i'm sooo sorry for posting late. moving has just been absolutely hectic and recently found out that i got scammed by a carpet cleaning company! insaneness... i'm soo sorry again but here's today's question (well, what's left of today )

Question: When it comes time to name your baby, how will you and dh go about doing so? Will you look up names on the internet, name your baby after someone dear to you, have your parents name your baby etc...?

My answer: When we have our baby, dh's parents will get to come up with the Chinese name according to a book that's been in the family's heritage. We're going to come up with the English name and I've been scouring websites already even though I'm nowhere near a BFP. haha but it's fun looking at all the cool names!

Im sorry about what happened to you, thats horrible

DH and I have already picked a name if its a girl. It kind of just came out of the blue, no real rhyme or reason behind it. If we need to come up with other names we will probably just look online

Great question!

I think it would be cool to each write our own lists using the internet or books and then see what we like/don't like on each other's lists. I've spent plenty of time thinking about names and looking online, but DH and I don't talk about names yet. I don't want to get to ahead of myself I guess. Also, one of my top names is one I know DH may not like due to someone that used to work with him that he didn't like. I figure the longer I stall before bringing it up, the less likely the connection will bother him.

I would like to use family names for a middle name or maybe use a similar first name to honor someone in the family.

We've already come up with names, we've known for a while but we will be keeping them a secret until our future baby is born. It's going to drive everyone crazy in our families

We talk about names all the time, so I already have a list of names we like - Anytime I hear a name I like, I text DH to see if he likes it. His typical response is, "Nope." We plan on being team so we want to have 2 girl & 2 boys names picked out. I would love yo use family names, I think that is a very special way to honor someone.

Great question!!

We will probably use family names for middle names. I think we have those picked out, but they're not set in stone.

For first names we will probably get a baby name book, and search online. We are also open to suggestions (at least I am). We have a couple of names we like, but for right now we are just naming a hypothetical person. I worry that when we actually have to do it for real we will get freaked out by the pressure.

Thanks everyone for your support and I loved reading all your different answers! Actually a lot of names I like, DH will say "no" to also. but I always say if his parents get to pick a chinese name, then I get to pick my own English one. haha
