Totally freaking out UPDATE
So I just got home from work and had a message on my machine from my doctor. She also left me a voicemail at work as well. She asked that I call her back tomorrow. She gets in at 10 o'clock. She said it's "not an emergency" but WHY would she be calling me? I had my triple screen last Thursday and I''m going for my anatomy scan on Thursday. I'll be 19 weeks tomorrow. I'm COMPLETELY freaking out.
I did try to call her office now but of course it's closed.

Re: Totally freaking out
She could just be letting you know results, not necessarily bad ones. Try and not freak, even though I know that is easier said then done. Praying for good news for you here!

I really, really want to but I hate to seem like a crazy person. She did say it wasn't an emergency and said I should call her in the morning. Ugh!! DH is out with the guys tonight so I'm home alone (with you all of course) Maybe I'll call me Mom. She's usually pretty level headed.

You are not a crazy person. When I was relatively newly pregnant and right after my first appointment I had a panic attack about a prescription that SHE prescribed me (even though I asked a million questions in the office) and I called the service at midnight. Doc called me right back and told me I was not crazy at all - that's what they are there for. I also called when I was worried about a dentist appointment I had and what drugs I could/couldn't have. If it will make you feel better, I would def call.

Re: Totally freaking out
So I called the service and they said they can have her call me back tomorrow. ANother Dr. in the group is covering tonight and they don't think we would know why she was calling. I'm about 2 seconds away from bursting into tears.

Re: Totally freaking out
I called the Dr. about 10 minutes ago but she wasn't in yet. I told the receptionist how anxious I was and am hoping for a call back.
Thank you all for your support. I'll let you know as soon as I am able to talk to her.

Re: Totally freaking out
Good luck. Hopefully it's nothing. Sometimes they'll call with the results. I've had doctors call when my blood work was a little off (anemic, low potassium, etc) so hopefully it's just that.

Re: Totally freaking out
My triple screen results came back abnornal 1 in 273 for Downs which is higher than the acceptable range for a 35 year old. I'm 30.
She said I could change my anatomay scan that is scheduled for tomorrow to an amnio. I'm calling the hospital right now to see if I can do that.

Try not to worry; many times these results alarm people for no reason. I would bet everything will be fine.

Re: Totally freaking out
Did your ultrascreen results come out good? I had results like yours (1:215) with my first (I was 25)...no one recommended an amnio at all to me...they felt that with great ultrascreen results it was probably a false positive, which is more common than I knew on the triplescreen testing...they were right, it was a false positive, but I had a Level II ultrasound at St. Charles with a perinatologist and due to his findings (no markers for DS) I chose not to have the amnio. Make sure you get as much information from your doctor and even a genetic counselor (they suggested that when they gave me the results) to make the right decision for you. Good luck!

I did...they were 1:10,000
I'm going for the amnio tomorrow and they will have us meet with a genetic counselor.
