Torn on RE's
We met with our fertility Urologist last night & he informed us that we need to seek a RE. DH's morphology is only 1% compared to his last SA of 2%. He does have low testosterone & they did more bloodwork. He recommended East Coast Fertility. I spent the majority of the night & morning researching online & I have no idea where to go.
I know everyone will have an opinion but we are dealing with big time Male IF!
Who can you all recommend in Nassau! We are on the South shore & want to really be within 20-30 minutes so that DH can produce his sample at home, if needed & then bring it...
TIA!

Re: Torn on RE's
I don't know anything about REs in Nassau or where things are. But I just wanted to add that we were told by the RE and urologist when severe MF issues are involved its much better to produce at the lab/office than at home, even if you live close. Every swimmer counts at that point. May be that will make your decision a little easier?

Re: Torn on RE's
I used RMA of NY and we were very happy(pregnant with twins) My DH although he never had a bad sample before had only 4% morph on the day of our IVF and we are pregnant with twins. AND I have high fsh. Their embryology team is supposed to be one of the best in NY. I did all my monitoring in Garden City unless it was a thursday or a weekend. Then you have to go to the city(60th and madison) You have to go to the city for transfer and retrieval.
I interviewed and saw about 5 different RE's and they were my favorite. I used Dr. Ruman and also saw Dr Flisser. Dr Mujadheen did my transfer

Re: Torn on RE's
I've heard that Cornell is the best for male IF but they don't accept my insurance and I didn't want to go into the city (although I've heard they have an office on LI for monitoring)
My DH has severe MF. We were told it would be a miracle if we concieved on our own and each clinic we used suggested donor sperm back up. Our first cycle was in St. Louis so no help to you but our last one was at LI-IVF and I was very happy there. (BFP but m/c). I'll be going there for my next cycle this month.
I had called East Coast to schedule a consult and they never even called me back so, I just went with LI IVF. I had several good recommendations from them and I met them and like them.

Re: Torn on RE's
We are also dealing with severe male factor IF also and we go to RSofNY. I've been going to them since January and had my first IUI at the end of March. We're going for our second at the end of this month. I was also recently very torn about the whole RE thing...so what you're feeling is very normal. My situation was a little different....I started freakin out thinking that maybe this place wasnt right for me. But after meeting with the doctor to voice my concerns he was very willing to listen to me and I felt like we were on the "same page" as they say. They're the onlyu place i can recommend b/c I havent been anywhere else. But I feel much more comfortable with them now. HTH

If you are near Melville, you can go to LI IVF.
