Too good to be true?

We have been daycare center shopping for my 5w old. She'll be 12w when I have to go back to work. We found a place we really like and were planning on signing her up next week. Just got a call from the place and they said they are having a summer deal for nbs. If we sign up before Sept the price is $245 instead of $330 per week and we are locked into that price till she's 18m when the price drops. That's a huge savings. Of course we are thrilled but then I of course started second guessing if there is something wrong with the place bc of the huge drop. I've already checked out their violations and such and was satisfied with everything and I'm just second guessing. Dh is saying just be happy as that saves us thousands of dollars. Thoughts?

well if you dont like them you can always leave unless they contract you in and you have to pay for the whole year. I dont know how they can do that but no harm done if you like it now and you always have an out by just taking LO out if you are uncomfortable.

Nope no contract. I just have never heard of a daycare dropping prices so dramatically.

i would be hesitant too - but iw ould want to take advantage of it lol

maybe they just decided to add a nb class and need people? maybe a lot of their newborns are moving up to the toddler program so they have space? research them online and next time you visit try to talk to other parents

Sometimes they have deals... Why don't you just ask them why they are doing it. Just say I am a new mom and I am nervous about bringing my child to any daycare but I really like your school. Why are you running this deal?

They know parents struggle for a little bit bringing kids to a new place and trusting them. I am sure she/he will understand.

I know it's not day care but gymboree also drops their prices and offers more for the summer programs than for fall. Maybe they loose a lot of kids in the summer and they are trying to fill spots and they also know you are shopping around. Or maybe there is a new day care opening up or one that has just lowered their prices and they are trying to be competitive?

Many teacher parents take their kids out of daycare in the summer, and centers run deals like this to make sure they keep their enrollment high, or else they run the risk of losing money. I don't think I'd be worried.
