to try or not to try

Dh & I cant decide if we are ready to try for #2. DD will be 2 this november and we are thinking about trying this fall but i have so many worries and concerns that I keep flip flopping on what I want. The idea of being prego makes me over the moon happy but the resltess nights and formula ughh not soo much... lol.
Money is tight with one i cant imagine two, But is anyone ever realy finacally ready i dont know. If i have another dc next summer then come the fall dd would be going on 3 and I would love to put her in a program half days but im not sure we could swing that if im not working still and theres no way we could do daycare for 2 kids..
But i really want my kids to be some what close in age and i would love to give my dd a best friend/sibling

How do you decide when the right time is for more kids?!??

Re: to try or not to try

We are battling the same but with #3. I think we are at the "let's not be careful and see what happens" stage. Finances are an issue but I'm confident we can swing it by making some adjustments.

I don't think I'll ever really be ready but I do know we want another more than anything.

I don't have any advice but wanted to let you know youre not alone.

I knew I was ready when I saw babies and didn't think "Man, babies are a lot of work" and instead thought "ohhhhhhh, I want one!" That, for me, was the switch!

i went through the same thing when we thought about trying for #2.

We decided to try and when it didnt happen the first few months and I got SO down about it - I knew it was time Chat Icon

Even now, I am 7w pregnant and from time to time (usually when my 2 year old is throwing a HUGE tantrum) I think "oh god, what did we do" Chat Icon but then I remind myself that this too shall pass.

Re: to try or not to try

I feel the same way bc DS is 5 and it was not my plan to wait this long but life happened and things came up. Now I feel ready for #2 but at the same time it's so scary going back to the newborn mindframe. DS was an amazing baby and his first year was the best of my life. However, I'm still worried I won't just snap back into knowing how to do everything so I have some reservations.
Good luck in what ever you decide!!

I'm totally there with you but I know it's worth the crazy of the beginning-stages in the long run.

This is true in the long run i know it will be a choice i am happy that i made, but its so hard now to look at DD and think that if we have another then she would have to share me or not get the attention i give her now since for the most part its just me and her all day... Ughh maybe im just over thinking it.. i dont know one minute i want it so bad the next i want to wait... ughhh

Re: to try or not to try

i think you will be able to figure out how to manage 2 children emotionally and financially. to be children growing up close in age is priceless and they will develop a bond that they will share forever.
what about looking into free programs for your DD in the fall. mommy and me at the library etc.

Re: to try or not to try

I knew I wanted another one right away! I took BCP for a couple of months, and I went off of it in April when my DS was 5 months. I didn't think it would take this long Chat Icon
We would love for our children to be close in age, and we knew we wanted more; there really wasn't any deciding, we just knew in our hearts that we want more children.
Good luck with whatever you choose! Chat Icon

If you have a second kid, even if it's difficult, once you see that precious baby you will be thrilled and have no regrets.

I decided that there will never be enough money, there will always be something that we need or the kids need, but somehow we will make it work. We always have. And the sleepless nights, although during that newborn period the days seem long and it is a trying time, its such a small part of the big picture and holding that ity bity baby makes it worth it.
