TMI question... How do you know if..

what you see is EWCM or a deposit DH left in you the night before?
I saw what I thought was EWCM on CD5 but now that I think back it was probably from DH because we BD the night before. So fast forward to today (CD9), the CM was very stretchy 2 to 3" long and the color is different than last time. We havent BD for the last 3 days. Could this be the real EWCM? Does it mean I will O in the next 2 days?

What you have now definitely sounds like EWCM. I would make sure to BD whenever you have this kind of CM as it is considered to be the most fertile.

Your O date should be soon, but not necessarily in the next two days. Keep tracking it and USUALLY you O on either the last day of EWCM or the day after you stop having it. But if you BD starting now until then, you should be covering your bases pretty well.

This month I haven't had much luck getting a positive OPK, so I used the ovulation calendar I found online & am making sure to BD every other day during this time.

I made the mistake of confusing it recently, too. I thought I was seeing EWCM around CD 25, but it was the night after BDing so more likely it was from that.

I found this:

"Make sure not to confuse semen with cervical fluid. They look and feel very similar. Semen will dry up very quickly upon your fingertips and is more rubbery is consistency. It may also tend to be foamy. Semen is little more white in color rather than clear like eggwhite fluid. To help you identify the difference, when urinating eggwhite cervical fluid will often hit the water and form into a ball while it sinks to the bottom . "

Semen will also break apart easier than EWCM.

ETA: And if you haven't BD'd in the last 3 days, I'd definitely say it's more likely that it's EWCM. Good luck

i worried about this too but i never had any leakage post BD ... is that weird? I mean, I guess it eventually came out but I never really noticed?

I was worried about this this month too After searching around I found what ppl call the water test. Semen will dissolve in water, CM will not, and will remain stretchy when removed.
