How do you know....(a little TMI question).???
How do you know if you are leaking amniotic fluid? I have been wearing a panty liner b/c of the CM, but now the whole liner was "wet". I am 31 weeks...is this normal?

This is my biggest fear. I'm sorry I don't have an answer for you. I know that amniotic fluid has I think a sweet smell. Maybe it's just urine. I would call your doctor just to be on the safe side.

They told us that as well, that if it smells sweet it could be. They said to note how much it is, what color it is and how it smells. I'd call my dr.

look carefully at the pad---thick wet like mucus or thin wet?
amniotic fluid is thin like water.
if u really cant tell---and its not so easy sometimes call.
they can tell by a sono.

When you leak, it's pretty much a constant trickle. So if you are peeing, and you contract your muscles to stop and there is stuff still coming out, it could be amniotic fluid.

I think you should call your doctor just to be safe. When I was going into labor my underwear kept feeling damp but it wasn't a constant trickle, but I was leaking fluid.

I don't feel the trickle, but it is thin and wet, definitely not CM. I have an appt tomorrow at 1:30 for a sono anyway....do you think it's ok to wait until then?

From my water breaking at 34 weeks(which was a contant wet feeling & didn't stop), I was told they would need to delivery me within 24 hours. That's my doctor's policy - every doctor is different.
My Bradley teacher ,on the other hand, said they could go a full week as long as nothing is inserted & no baths (risk of infection).
To be on the safe side I would call. They may tell you it can wait until tomorrow Good luck!
