I don't love talking about stuff like this on a public message board, but typically the only women who ever respond to this question are people who jump right back into it quickly. I know from talking to my friends that it varies from 2 weeks to 8 or 9 months, but I think the people on the "longer" end of the spectrum don't advertise it, and don't respond on threads like this. So when you pull up a thread that asks the question (and it gets asked about once a month), it seems like every woman in the world waits 2 - 6 weeks, and honestly, that made me feel like sh!t. Like I was the only weirdo who was too tired, too sore, and truthfully too uninterested for quite a while after giving birth.
So...yeah. 3 or 4 months. I think. I was too tired at the time to note it in my datebook.
very well said, and very true
it all depends on how YOU feel. Tell your DH to relax and talk to your Dr about when they clear you. If you're past the 6 weeks and you feel ok, then its up to you. Don't go by how long other people waited, do what your dr says is safe and what you want. Just because other people hopped back in bed after 5 or 6 weeks doesn't mean you should (or shouldn't)

Re: TMI
With dc 1 we waited 3 weeks. For dc 2, we had to wait about 8-1/2 weeks bc of bleeding. Both c sections.

Re: TMI
Definitely six weeks, but be careful. We let our guard down and DD decided she was coming 18 months after my son.

TMI
I honestly cannot remember, but I know it was well after my 6 week appointment. I was terrified. I had minimal tearing with my vaginal delivery and healed pretty quickly, but it still hurt really bad the first time we did it. Use lots of lube and DEFINITELY use protection of some sort.

Re: TMI
I'm def not doing anything until I see my doctor which is in 3 weeks. I'm also not in the mood to do anything as of right now. I'm hoping to schedule my surgery to get my tubes tied once I see my doctor so that will be another excuse to do nothing for another set of weeks. DH is not going to like it but like a PP said, he get become really good friends with his right hand, if not already..lol
Thanks ladies.

Re: TMI
Somewhere between 8-10 weeks with my first, which was a C-section.
I think it was longer, maybe 12 weeks, with my second (a VBAC), because I had several internal tears that took a while to heal.

This was me too with my last delivery, they basically had to rebuild the dividing wall, LOL!
