Tipping contractors?

We have a contractor working in our house this week. He has one employee who has been working with him on the project. So far they're doing a great job and it looks like they'll be all done in under a week total. They even worked all day Saturday and Sunday. We haven't seen the finished product yet but so far we've been happy with their work. I feel bad that the employee had to work the weekend. We didn't ask them to, but still. When theyre done, should we tip both of them, or just the employee, or is it not customary to tip either? And how much should we tip?

I don't tip contractors they are very expensive. Offer them lunch

I tipped each of the two main guys $100 each and their three assistants $50 each. I didn't tip the owner obviously. This was for a large scale renovation that lasted five to six months.
