Ticket for a commercial truck ?

My DH has had a commercial white van for the 9 yrs that we have lived here. We have never gotten a ticket for parking in the street at night. We are allowed to leave our cars out on the street at night(Town of Islip). My DH just got a new truck with a backup beep and he leaves early in the morning. He definitely made one of our neighbors mad and they reported us. I can understand the backup beep is annoying so early in the morning and DH now backs in our driveway every night. But 2 tickets in the amount of $450 is a little And they are for parking a commercial vehicle on the street at night(something we have done for 9 yrs without a problem) Do you think we can fight them?? I wish the neighbor would have approached my DH instead of report him

I do not think you can fight it The bottom line is you are not allowed to park a commercial vehicle on a residential street. You can try to go to court and see if they would be willing to plea bargain it down or reduce the fine. However you will have to take off of work to do it. So you have to see if it is worth it. KWIM?
