Re: who has pleaeded NOT GUILTY to a ticket
I did but didn't have to go to court. It was for parking in a "No Parking 7AM-7PM" zone but the sign was completely rubbed out on both corners of the street. I sent in the pictures but received a notice weeks later that I hadn't paid and had to also pay a $20 fine. So I just paid both, figuring it was easier to be done with it. Well, I got a notice months later saying I had won my case and they sent me back my $ .
But, that was in NYC, not sure how it works in LI.

Re: who has pleaeded NOT GUILTY to a ticket
My advice- take pictures and measure something in it to determine a scale.

Re: who has pleaeded NOT GUILTY to a ticket
it will totally depend on who you deal with. I have faught 3 tickets in my life and lost all 3. 1 - AZ (you can see for miles, why would I speed past a cop. I passed him, he pulled out, says he paced me and I was speeding. BS!!!) 2 - NY (said I parked in handicap spot. I am NOT A LAZY PERSON, and all the HC spots are clearly marked. the one I parked in had blue and yellow lines and no 'chair' markings. Took pics and still found guilty. Lowered fee though 3 - NY (parked in 3 hour limit spot. I refused to park in an unsafe area under train tracks at end of lot. So parked where did and they said "if you were my girlfriend I'd tell you to park where you did and chance the ticket then your life. NICE huh!!??!!!)
Good luck!

if the court is close by and a convenience time. But for a few dollars, might not be in my opinion

They might dismiss it altogether if you can prove that the car was less than 12 inches from the curb. In that case it would be worth, IMO.

Do what shelly said - take a picture with something measuring in the picture to show scale. Or break out the tape measure for the picture.
Of course, it the car has been moved...that won't really work.
