***Thursday's QOTD***
I took the day off of work yesterday to go to Six Flags and I had so much fun!!! I hope everyone enjoyed their day, and enjoys today as well...
Here is the QOTD:
When it comes time for your child to grow up, get married and start a family, what one piece of advice are you going to give them?

Re: ***Thursday's QOTD***
I am going to make sure my children are knowledgeable with debt and credit cards and money. I got myself into a bit of debt when i turned 18, that if I knew then what I know now, those Coach bags would have looked much better in the form of a down payment for a home. I hope that my children can understand that it is dangerous to use credit cards and that they will use them wisely.

Re: ***Thursday's QOTD***
I'll want my kids to go out and see the world. That must be scary for a parent, but mine were fully supportive of me going away to college, studying abroad for a semester, and then moving to London for a year after I graduated. Then, in the years that followed, I traveled more all over Europe and the U.S. I really wish I had taken the initiative to see Turkey, Egypt, South America... places that I would still love to see but definitely feel too "mature" to backpack in. And it's pretty un-affordable otherwise! So I'd encourage my kids to be even a little more adventurous than I was.
I think all that independence and travel and experiencing other ways of life first-hand made me the person I am. It gave me a lot of confidence and self-assuredness that I really value, and I wish that for my own children.

Re: ***Thursday's QOTD***
I want my kids to 1st and for most to learn that education is very important. I want to teach them how important it is to express their emotions always say how you feel. Also I want to teach them not to rush growing up enjoy time with their friends and do all the things they should be doing at that age.

The value of a dollar but also to dream big...I've always been a big dreamer, and I'm a true believer that if you really really believe it will happen, you will MAKE it happen and I want to instill that into my kids!

ETA: Ok I totally didn't read the question right. To marry your best friend, and not to feel like you have to do everything on schedule: get married, buy a house, have kids... Every relationship is different.

To be flexible, to understand that the world throws things at you sometimes and you need to be able to adapt, and most of all to have compassion and understanding and to teach this to their children.
