Thoughts on crib?
I am obsessed with getting a grey crib. I found 2 that are reasonably priced, however, I am torn.
I don't ever like to buy the cheapest out there, but I love the look of the Ikea crib. I also see that it got an "A" in the Baby Bargains book.
The DaVinci crib I like enough. It only got a "B" in the book, but because it is a moderately priced crib, I feel better about it for some reason...
What are your thoughts?
ETA: First one is IKEA, second is DAVINCI! Image Attachment(s):

Re: Thoughts on crib?
I think it's totally a style preference. IMO They are two different looks, the ikea being more modern and the da vinci being more traditional, what are your thoughts on the rest of your nursery is going to look like.

Thoughts on crib?
if you like the ikea one more, get that one. as long as you're ok with knowning it probably won't last for any future babies.

Re: Thoughts on crib?
Here's my 2 cents as a BDTD mom .... DD's crib was absolutely beautiful .. Stanley America, very girly, very expensive. When it came time to turn it into a toddler bed, we had to order the rails, wait over a month for them to come, when they came it was damaged, when the new one came 3 weeks later, it had some nicks and wasn't perfect, but we really needed to do it already.
For DS, we haven't bought a crib yet, but are planning on buying an Ikea one. We have several friends who used the Ikea cribs for several years with no problem - converts to a toddler bed without having to do any special orders.
totally get the ikea crib! I don't think more $ necessarily means better quality.

Re: Thoughts on crib?
crashing to answer
we have the leksvik ikea crib (same crib, different color) and love it!
it was super easy to put together, easy to lower the mattress and easy to turn into a toddler bed. (DS is 2) It held up very well to the abuse my boy put it through. right now it is taken apart and lying under our bed waiting for DC # 2.
just because it's ikea does not mean it can't last. and if it doesn't at least you didn't pay $$$ for it!
