moms who co-sleep...or really anyone with thoughts on the matter..bed or crib?
I keep meaning to get a crib for our house upstate. he was in a cradle next to my bed (but really, has always been IN my bed) but I do want him to at least have his own space for naps and such.
he's 9 months old.
his "room" had already been furnished as a guest room. it is very large and has a twin sized trundle bed against one wall and a full sized bed in the middle.
originally we were going to put the crib in one corner but dh thought he would be too cold near the outer wall. so we never bought one and have basically done nothing since.
dh thought maybe we could just start him out sleeping on the trundle. the bottom pull out. but not sure I like that.
should I just get him a mini bed?
would you use the bottom bed of the trundle?
get a crib?
what?

Honestly, I think the trundle is fine as long as it's low to the ground.
When Luca started going to daycare at 13 months the kids napped on little cots that were low to the ground - maybe 2-3 inches up?
He did fine! Loved that he could get up when he wanted  And he still slept amazingly well in his crib at night.
If it's a space issue, I would totally stick with the trundle.

My 9 month old would TOTALLY roll off of a trundle. She is way too mobile and curious, so that would not be an option for me.

he is a rolling fool at night. all of the place.
I would get bedrails if we used the trundle or got a bed.
it's a drawer type trundle, if that makes any difference.

for ME. . .I'd get a crib (even a pack n play since you are doing just naps in it). A trundle bed would make me a nervous wreck, Joey is literally ALL over the place at night/at naptime, I'd have to go in there to keep picking him up off the floor if we had a trundle

I would get a crib - I would worry that when he starts walking he would get up in the middle of the night and walk around the house etc.

you can get an inexpensive crib at Walmart!
