would you prefer to have your friends attend even if they have no intention of buying what you are selling? Or would you rather have them decline the event?

My friend is hosting her 3rd (seems to be a monthly thing for her) and I have declined all 3 as i have zero interest in what she is selling. Do i attend just to support her, or is it ok to keep declining?

ETA - its a friend i have grown up with, but we have zero friends in common. So for me, it wouldnt really be a social thing

I'll go to a home party even if I might not buy anything, I just look at it as a way to hang out with my friends for a few hours. Chat Icon

Depends on how close you are with the friend. My best friend would want me there no matter what, but an acquaintance I would probably decline.

I don't go at all
I really don't have the time, as a FTWM, to waste at these things when I will NEVER buy a thing
All that stuff, IMO, is overpriced and not worth it.

If I need something, I go buy it at a store or online. Not from some direct sale party

If I have free time, I spending it with my family.

If I want a night out, it will be at a nice restaurant or bar, not at some in home sales pitch event

They eventually get the hint and stop inviting me.
I thankfully haven't been invited to one of these things in years now.
Thank God.

I host them at my house. If people come great, if not so be it. Sometimes they come and do not buy. Either way it's a good way for me to get practice with my presentations. I do a different theme each month to mix it up and make it fun so it's not always the same thing.

I don't attend. I hate those parties.

When we moved to DC, I got invited to my first one. The mom who was most friendly to me invited me over. I was really disappointed that she was trying to sell me something. I bought some random thing and have hated these parties ever since.

Over the years, actual friends down here have thrown these parties occasionally. I go to support my friend. DH would rather me give a friend $100 than buy yet another thing from them.

None of my friends in NY do these types of parties.
