Tupperware/Jewelry Parties
Anyone dread getting invited to them? I hate getting invited to them and usually reply no.
Well what if it is your mother or MIL who is hosting one and invited you knowing you don't like going, would you feel obligated to go?

Re: Tupperware/Jewelry Parties
I would go and buy something small out of courtesy to them. I hosted a tupperware party once and both my MIL and mom bought stuff.

Re: Tupperware/Jewelry Parties
I just got an invite to a Lia Sophia party. Normally I would go to socialize & buy something small. However, it is being held on Super Bowl Sunday, since DH & I host Super Bowl there is no chance that I am leaving DH home to get everything ready by himself.

Re: Tupperware/Jewelry Parties
Honestly, I have so few friends where I live now (no longer on LI) that I jump at any party just to have a chance to go do something. But I like these kinds of parties and don't feel like I need to drop a bundle.

Re: Tupperware/Jewelry Parties
I cringe at jewelery party invites, but I love Pampered Chef parties.
I've never been invited to a Tupperware Party and sometimes I like the Party Lite parties.

Re: Tupperware/Jewelry Parties
I am not a jewelry person and was just invited to two Lia Sophia parties. They are both my friends so I am going to both and will buy something small at each to maybe give as gifts or something.
I wish one of them was Pampered Chef instead!

Re: Tupperware/Jewelry Parties
Well I am having a Tupperware party in Feb, so if anyone wants to go, lmk!!
I would go if it was something I was interested in 'cuz I will buy at least something small.
If it was my mom or mil I would go and buy something regardless... or at least order something but not attend.

Re: Tupperware/Jewelry Parties
depends.....
something like lia sophia-(no offense) is too pricey for me considering its not sterling silver. so yeah I might pass...
Things like Tupperware or Tastefully Simple- I usually could find something I might need if its someone close.

Re: Tupperware/Jewelry Parties
I cringe when i'm invited to the sex toy parties. haha.
i love party lite. i'd go to a pampered chef party and probably a tupperware party.
heck i'd prolly go to a jewelry party too.
so long as alcohol is included I'd go to any of them! i prefer to think of it as a gathering... and i'd only buy what I really wanted or needed.

Dread the invitations...but if its a good friend I will go to support. But if the funds arent there i will let them know to not count me in on buying anything

Re: Tupperware/Jewelry Parties
LOVE pampered chef, not so big on jewelry. I've just been invited to a tupperware party, and there are 100 things I want...but tupperware is $$$!!!
But yes, if it were my mom or MIL, I would definitely go to the party, even if I just bought one tiny little thing...
