Those who have DC on Zantac or other weight based dose reflux meds...

Did you go every month to the ped to adjust the dose? DS has had dose changes at 2,3 & 4 months---he is now almost 5 months and I am wondering if I should schedule an appt for him---at 3 & 4 months he definitely had more reflux symptoms and needed the new dose.

DS was on zantac and I could always tell when he needed a higher dose bc he would get fussy . So I would take him to the PED for a weight check and new dose .

Have you seen a gasto doctor? My dd was on Zantac until she was 18 months old, but she was closely monitored by her gastroenterologist.

If reflux symptoms are getting worse, I think it's time for a medication increase!!!

I have just weighed her and then called the doc and asked what the new dosage is based on her weight. I just use a home digital scale, weigh me, then pick her up and weigh her both. A little math and it saves a trip tp the ped's office.

I just adjust it myself, usually .25 and if that doesn't work then .5.
