those in the final weeks....
so what's really bringing you down?
I mean, we're all waddling around and have pain, difficulty sleeping... but what is the worst symptom?
I swear I can't take my edema any more. I can handle the GD, the hip pain, peeing every 5 min....
I sense that I am dehydrated... yet I drink FIVE LITERS A DAY I've been trying to reach for 6, but it's way too much None the less, I think the 'lack of extra water' is making the edema worse. I noticed my pee getting a bit darker too! This is NUTS. (I'm also avoiding salt and elevating my legs)
feel free to vent your woes here

Re: those in the final weeks....
I have 7 weeks to go and the heartburn is killing me! It's like it was in the beginning when I lost all that weight. I barely ate today because I was sick. Sleeping is also uncomfortable but the heartburn is really what is killer.

Re: those in the final weeks....
I am having my c-cection on Friday.
I agree, staying hydrated is the hardest thing. I cannot drink (or pee) anymore than I am right now.
I had to go to the hospital twice in the last 2 weeks for dehydration.
I have central air, and I'm really not sweating or anything, I don't get why I need sooooo much water.
Taking care of my 4 year old DD, keeping her entertained and trying not to lose my patience is the absolute hardest thing right now. I swear, this poor child will need serious therapy when she grows up, after dealing with me for these past 9 months...

Re: those in the final weeks....
My worst stuff isn't so bad, I admit... We got the Hellroid, the "air hunger", and my complete inability to bend down and pick up anything I drop. Until last week this was no problem, now I just say "that can wait til DH comes home". But after those physical discomforts, its the mental part that's making me a bit I still don't feel 'ready' somehow!!!!

Re: those in the final weeks....
Honestly at this point with only 2 weeks to go EVERYTHING is bringing me down. My belly is in the way of everything - its so hard to get dressed, impossible to bend over, hard to get up.....it's all torture!!! The baby's head is constantly griding down onto my bladder and causing me so much discomfort. I'm so swollen from the knees down that I can hardly bend at the joints, I feel like I have mini rubber bands around each toe cutting off all circulation, I don't even know from sleep anymore.......I'm exhausted 24/7 because I am up all night long from the hip pain, peeing, and everything else. I am on the couch by like 3am every night because I just give up on trying to get comfortable in bed.
Seriously, I am BEYOND done with this pregnancy and I just wish the baby would get out now. I pray every day my water breaks so I could be done but of course, nothing so far. I cannot imagine another 2 weeks of this, it's killing me!!!
EDIT - Oh I almost forgot............SO done with GD!!! I can't even look at protein anymore, the mere thought of it makes me want to vomit!! All I want is bread and cereal due to feeling nauseous a lot now throughout the day. I cannot handle another piece of chicken.........PUKE!!!

Re: those in the final weeks....
I have incredible rib pain with a burning sensation. It's constant but I have learned to deal with it with only seven weeks to go. Otherwise, I have no other problems, no waddling, no heartburn, not waking up 15 times a night, few aches/pains, I still have energy, no crazy cravings....I think I can still do this for seven more weeks.
I feel very lucky

Re: those in the final weeks....
The heartburn is killer and people are just really getting to me lately - I am beyond cranky. My biggest peeve isn't physical, it is the fact that my nursary is not done yet and my DH still has not got me a new car and that is killing me mentally.

Is it bad that I really have no complaints? I'm feeling good, waddling a little, but not feeling like an overstuffed turkey yet. I can breathe, I sleep through the night, and occassionally get heartburn, but that is it.
What's wrong with me?

Re: those in the final weeks....
The constant peeing is really starting to annoy me! DH and I have become serious card players during the week. We play the game 3 to 13 and it should only take a few minutes to play each hand and I can't even get through 2 hands without taking a pee break. Luckily, DH thinks its funny.
And let's not forget the fact that I can no longer sit completely upright. Apparently it aggravates when I do, so she kicks and digs her toes even further into my ribs than usual!!... Good times!
5 more weeks!!!!

I have so much empathy for you with your GD... your case is much more severe than mine... I've been able to sneak carbs in small doses without any problems. I don't know you manage....
the swelling thing, I'm right there with you. when I walk, I literally feel the tops of my feet jiggle . my ankle joints feel tight from the swelling. It goes 1/2 way up my calves. I can't even imagine how bad it would be if I didn't drink a lot of water, avoid salt, and elevated whenever possible.
I almost forgot the other great symptom: Scone kicks my stomach while I'm sleeping and I throw-up a bit in my throat UGH that is SOOOOOO nasty. mercifully, it's only happened a few times. that and the rib kicks drag me down mighty fast.

The contractions. I keep having them and they are regular for like, an hour, and then they go away. I sit here writing them down, and getting all excited only to have them get further apart, or go away.

Re: those in the final weeks....
Overall I have to say I feel pretty good a lot of the time. However, I do have a small list of things that bother me daily The indigestion at night is starting to get worse again (it was much better for awhile after I started the Nexium) so sleeping is just not what it used to be. I am feeling very sore when I get up in the mornings and the swelling is kinda annoying too. Since DS is breech I have his head on my ribcage so between that and the BH the top of my belly is gettin sore. But I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel so it's making all of this a lot more bearable!!

I mostly feel okay, but my big fat squishy feet are gross. I'm pretty much tired all the time, but have been avoiding coffee in favor of water. I'm ready to meet this kid!

I felt the same exact way with my son. Consider yourself very lucky, and continue to enjoy it. With this one, I am the complete opposite.

Re: those in the final weeks....
At 4 days past my due date I can honestly say that it's more of a mental frustration than a physical. I've been strangely used to the heartburn (even the kind when I lay down at night and it runs UP my throat..so fun). Having to bend over and pick stuff up is hard but not out of control, I am waddling a little but I really feel no pelvic discomfort. From time to time I get the pressure down low from the baby but I can handle it.
So, I'd say the worst thing has been having the contractions for 2-3 hours and then they stop....and then nothing for hours. Then 1-2 hours of contractions and then they stop...and then nothing. I keep thinking "this is it!!!" and then nothing. The dr. said don't even pay them any mind unless I am in real discomfort. At that point I will know I'm in labor.
