at 23 weeks, I've decided to change dr's...FINAL UPDATE

So I've officially had it with my dr's office...first of all, I'm never informed about any upcoming appointments, so I have no idea what to expect ever...
There was two dr's there and I loved one...she was fantastic...I found out today that she left the practice, and I definately don't feel comfortable with the other dr finishing out my pregnancy and delivering my baby. I had her today, all she did was a heart beat check and that's it...didn't ask any questions, didn't ask me if I had any questions....DH was even uncomfortable with that dr....so i feel I'm making to right choice...its just kinda scary doing it mid pregnancy.

***Update***

I just called another practice and they it was NO problem to take me as a patient...I feel SOOOOOO relieved!!!

Its ok.. you do what is best for you and baby. It stinks but being comfortable with your doc is priceless... good luck

You need to do what's best for you and your family! Don't worry about it, find someone who's right for you!
I was searching for Dr's today because my regular obgyn is a little far from my house and I would have to deliver in NJ when I live in PA. I found a practice in PA but they told me I would see multiple Dr.'s throughout my pregnancy and I was like NOOOO WAY! I want 1 Dr. and that's it! So I am trooping to NJ just so I can see 1 Dr.! You always gotta do whats right for you and makes you comfortable!!!

I changed doctors at 28 weeks to a new office.. then I didnt like the new office, so I went to another office later that week and decided this was the best one. Its important to like your dr! Im SOOOO glad I changed, even at 28 weeks. I wish I found this office sooner.. but better late than never! Goodluck in search of a new dr!!

Thanks for all the reassurance ladies...I was kinda nervous about it, but I'm feeling better about it now.
I am going to call the new dr's office in the morning and see what they say!

goodluck! Be sure to ask what their office policy is about returning phone calls and what to expect in an emergency situation. These were my bad experiences with my OB and the reasons why I left. HTH!

I changed Drs at like 26 weeks and was very happy I did.

i can imagine it's scary to change dr's mid pregnancy but you are really doing the right thing! don't doubt that for a moment! i'm glad you decided to make a move instead of remaining unhappy. best of luck with the new dr!!!

I also just changed Dr's. Im 20w3d. I just felt that the Dr i was seeing was really rough. When she did dopplers and sonos, it wasnt just unfcomfy, they hurt! Even DH would ask why she was pressing so hard and her response when he asked her was ' because your baby doesnt want to cooperate'. That hit us in a wrong way and we worried how she would act if I had any type of complications during childbirth. Sooo we switched dr's. And honestly, best thing we could have done. It was scary, but DH reminded me that we could see the same DR all the way through and then she be out of town or something when I go into labor and then we get who we get in L&D. He was right. Hope you find someone who works for you!!

I changed doctors about halfway through my pregnancy because we moved and it ended up being a great thing.

Not that I didn't like the first doctor, but once I started seeing the new one, I realized how indifferent I was to the first one!
