This may be my most random question yet...
Do you ladies have coffee tables in your living rooms? Not the end tables, but the larger table that's usually placed in the center, near the couch.
Just curious...
We moved ours into another room for the Christmas season (to fit the tree in the LR without overcrowding it), and now that it's out of there, it opened the room up SO MUCH. I'm thinking about leaving it our altogether, and just having the end tables. Is it "PC" to not have one?

We did have an ottoman that served as a coffee table infront of the couch, but ever since Ava started to crawl, we moved it, and it makes such a difference in space!

We have one, but once I have the baby and he/she starts moving around, I will put it in storage for baby's safety. My friend did this when her twins got older, and it did make her room soooo much bigger. I think if you don't really use it for anything (we don't, it's a junk collector!), it doesn't hurt to get rid of it!! It's your house!

we have a coffee table. one of the things I like most about it that it has 3 drawers that we use for storage. and they are put to very good use. it's also handly when we have people over. just chuck everything and hide it in there

We would like to but the computer table jutts out too far into the room and there wouldnt be enough of a walkway. When we rearrange the furniture and I get a laptop, we will get a coffee table.

I have one, but I didn't for a long time.
My Ils bought us one for Christmas '04. It was their idea. I like it how it makes the room look more finished, but I do miss the open space.

This was an ongoing disagreement between me and DH for awhile. I grew up never having one in my house and didn't want to get one when we moved into our house....he couldn't imagine not having one. I finally gave in just so i didn't have to hear him complain about it anymore, but I would love to get rid of ours tomorrow if it wouldn't bring up the argument again

We had a large ottoman in the center, but when DS was crawling we moved it in front of the entertainment center to keep him from pushing buttons.
I think it's fine not to have one.... I just like to put my feet up on it.

we moved ours too to make more room for the baby and it does open up a lot of space, we dont miss it either.

Yes, we have one. But now that I think about it I don't think I would miss it if it were gone. It is just holding a few books and magazines. We use our end tables more.

dh used to have one in his apartment, but it was always used for other things like putting ones feet on it...so when we bought a couch for the house we got a an ottoman and put the coffee table in the office
