This happened this afternoon.
I'm getting ready to announce to everyone we know that I'm pregnant. Today's the first day of the 2nd trimester...
This afternoon I get a phone call and they tell me that my initial labs that came back weeks ago, that they went over with me a week and said came back perfectly normal... did not actually come back perfectly normal.
That they are seeing that I'm a carrier for Spinal Muscular Atrophy and are referring me to the genetics counselor and sending my husband for testing, etc.
I'm at work, call my mom -- flipping out. Can't get ahold of my husband and am getting anxious at the thought of telling him this knowing he's going to freak out.
... they call me an hour later:
"We are so, so sorry... but we read the report wrong. You are not a carrier."
and then just 
On a night like this, I am missing alcohol in a major... major way lol.

Thats terrible!
As I was reading your post, I was thinking that if they reviewed it a week ago and all was fine that it could be a mistake.
Glad to read it was for you.
I would be really really pissed at my dr's office. I might even consider changing unless they've been beyond excellent in other areas that I could forgive them. You don't need that kind of stress.
 for the family getting that news for real today and  for you for that horrific hour.

OMG I would be sooo pissed!! Thank god you're not a carrier but that is such a ridiculous amount of stress!! Welcome to the second trimester though!!

omg that is ridiculous!!! Sorry you went through that unnecessary stress! Do you mind me asking which OB you go to? (or FM me if you'd prefer and don't mind sharing!). I have switched OB's twice after prior losses, curious if it's one of their offices!

Stony Brook Midwives -- they have been great about everything else so far. And she was truly very very apologetic. I could tell she felt awffffulll.
So I'm not going anywhere -- but... still, phew.

OMG! That is TERRIBLE!!!!!!! They should really double check sh*t like that before calling people!!!
But at least everything is ok. I definitely would have been freaking out as well.

I am so sorry this happened to you and glad that it ended up all being a mix up. That said, I think I would consider switching practices over it. Maybe I'm hypersensitive, but that seems like a reckless mistake!

I love the midwives but I had issues with getting test results as well. Nothing nearly as bad as what they did to you, but it took weeks and at least 10 phone calls before I could get anyone to give me a straight answer. No one could apparently find my glucose test results so I was in the dark for a while. Luckily the results were negative, but I was really upset with them.

Wow! That's terrbile!! Glad everything is OK.
I don't know if you strictly want a midwife but my OB is Dr. Reavis. He's great and delivers at SB. He is completely computerized so you can look up your results too.

OMG I would discuss this at my next appointment and suggest to them that all the midwives/doctors look at the results to agree before calling anyone with this kind of news. I would NOT be happy and would want a drink just like you.
