They found "something" on my mom's u/s/ UPDATE

So my mom has non-alcoholic liver cirrhosis that stems from having hepatitis as a child. She has had abd u/s's for 6 years every 6 months They have always been fine. Well yesterday she got a call that they found a mass on her liver. She has a MRI tuesday and then they will go from there. If it is cancer it is only curable through a transplant since it would be primary. She isn't a great candidate for a transplant because of the other issues she is having with her liver. Because of the cirrhosis her chances of this being primary is 80% and it's not curable, but treatable. I am at a loss. I'm trying to be positive but the chances this is nothing are slim. She has a + protein marker for cancer but it was always dormant.

We live oos so I explained to her she should consider moving in with us since we live in an area with leading oncologists and treatment, and I can go per diem at work to help take care of her. I have 3 small kids that ADORE her and her them. I'm so f*cking pisssed about this. She is amazing. She lives and breaths for my brother, myself and our families. My dad and step mom, on the other hand, don't give a shitt about us and are raging alcoholics in the best shape ever. WHY does this happen? WHY the f*ck does this happen????

I'm sorry I just need to vent. I'm just numb from this all and I refuse to show my mom. I need to be strong for her because the next 6 days are going to be helll for her. I heard her crying last night. She was just standing in the hallway looking looking at my kids bawling her eyes out at 2am. I broke my freaking heart.


****UPDATE*****

We spoke with her doctor today about the u/s. She is 99% sure it is cancer based on what she is seeing. She is not a candidate for a transplant. This is treatable but not curable. She can choose the radiation and chemo, or to live her life to the fullest. Right now the plan is she will move in with us until it gets really bad and then we'll drive her back to my home state where my brother will take FMLA and stay with her. She wants to die in her own home. I will move up there with the kids possibly,, but it all depends on the severity of the cancer and how aggressive it is. The fact that NOTHING was seen, not even a shadow, 6 months ago and it's obvious now is a concern it's rapidly growing.

I seriously can't f*cking breath right now. I know there is a *chance* it's nothing and we will have to wait for the mri and biopsy but I also have to prepare myself for this. My mom is my best friend, my biggest cheerleader and my rock. Our lives have been awful and we have gone through more in 1 lifetime then anyone should have to. I just can't believe THIS is happening. What a f*cking joke. I can't even think about my kids right now. This will literally destroy my daughter. I will need to get her into counseling once my mom talks to them. We just went 3 months without seeing her and only facetiming everyday and my daughter was a 6 year old crying mess for her. She's 6, she shouldn't have to grow up without her Grandmother. My youngest is 2 and he will never remember her. I just can't believe this is happening.

My heart just broke in a million pieces reading this. I'm so very sorry you are going through this. I can't imagine what she is feeling...or what you are going through.
I hope she considers your offer to move her in with you.

I'm so sorry you are going through such an awful time. It's so scary. It's just heart breaking when you hear the words cancer and your mom in the same sentence.

I'm going through this right now with my mom as well. The fear and the sadness is overwhelming if you want to talk fm me.
