The Worst Open House!
Yesterday DH and I went to an open house that was unbelievable. The house was not dirty, but a complete mess--dishes piled in the sink, boots, empty water bottles and other clothing thrown all over the house, beds unmade, etc. Seriously, you could barely walk in some rooms. Plus, the owner didn't put her dog somewhere secure, so the poor thing was about to have heart failure.
Worst, we asked what kind of heat she had--oil or gas, and she did not know! DH said he was tempted to say "Does an oil company come from time to time? If so, you probably have oil. If not, you probably have gas," but he thought it was too snotty.
Actually, when you got past the junk, it was not a bad house at all, but it was on a busy street and we really didn't like that.
Worst, the realtor was gone, and we got there midway through the open house. My guess is that the realtor ran off to have a drink after seeing the state of the house!

when I hear stories like this, it is no surprise that there are 40K houses for sale on LI. people are CLUELESS!

--how about going to look at a house - and the renter that is living there is sitting on the floor of his MESSY room - clipping his freakin toe nails
