We knew for sure it was "the one" and didn't have any second thoughts about that. What we did worry about was how we'd afford it and if they'd accept our offer. There were two other offers on the house at the time. We didn't even give the realtor an amount, I just said to her do whatever you have to do to get us this house - just a little crazy in hindsight, huh?
This was us too!! In a very flooded market with LOTS of available homes we found ourselves in a "bidding" war (GA style!! ) and had to bid $100 over asking. Apparently, that's all it took...and we got it!
P.S. They could clearly never handle a "real" NY bidding war!!

Re: "The one"
I looked for a long time for my house because I didn't need to buy one (I was in an apartment and I was happy there) but I wanted to buy one. As soon as I walked in, I knew it was the house. I did not have any second thoughts about the house itself, just about whether I could do it all by myself (I was single at the time).
I still look at houses now - DH wants to move or expand. He loves our neighborhood though.
Don't worry about it - I think you'll be happy with your choice.
